Biography: Late in the evening on November 26, 2018, Donna Carol Cortinez, the radiant daughter of Bob and Kay Cortinez, slipped quietly away. Donna opened her crystal blue eyes and began her life on May 21, 1965 in a little south Louisiana town named Houma. She was very robust and demanded all of the attention from her older siblings Cheryl and Robert but devoted the same attention to her younger brother Scott. Growing up in Little Rock, Donna attended Central High School and then received her cosmetology license. Her large circle of clients were convinced that she was the best hair stylist in the area. Donna spent most of her life as a hair stylist and always made everyone look and feel beautiful. Donna?s daughter Courtny inherited her hair styling talent. Donna had a huge heart and would do anything to help those she loved. She was a free spirit and she would light up any room she entered with her infectious laugh and contagious smile. The migrating sound of music always tugged at the strings of Donna?s heart. She went to Nashville, Tennessee where she immersed herself in the gentle sound of music with her friends. There, in Nashville, is where Donna closed her eyes forever. She was attended to by a tremendous staff of doctors and nurses at St. Thomas Mid-Town Hospital in Tennessee. Donna?s sister, Cheryl Cortinez, and her brother, Scott Cortinez, answered the trumpet?s call before her. Those of us who remain, are her parents, Bob and Kay Cortinez; her brother Robert Cortinez II, his wife Elizabeth and their three children Trey, Carly (Josh) and Caleb; Cheryl?s daughter Sarah; Scott?s son Cody; her devoted daughter Courtny (Aaron) and her children Abby, Emma, Lily and Ruby; and her cherished son Caleb. ?Some people come into our lives and quickly go, some stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same.? Donna?s spirit was free and unabashed. During her life, she wandered down many rocky roads, but with her faith in God, always got up. At the end, Donna expressed a desire to come home. Now you are home Donna, with God and us. A Memorial Service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at 3:00p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Ruebel Funeral Home Chapel, 6313 West Markham St., Little Rock, Arkansas . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buffalo Valley Recovery, 105 Oak Valley Dr., Nashville, TN 37207
