Biography: Ann Burton Portis died on September 27, 2018. She was born February 13, 1942, in Memphis, TN, at Methodist Hospital. She was raised in Lepanto, AR, with mother and father Evelyn Ann and J.C. Portis, two brothers Clay Portis and Ernest B. Portis, mothers? parents in Marked Tree, AR, Annie Bradsher Burton and Ernest B. Burton, fathers? parents Agnes Mays and Daniel Franklin Portis of Lepanto. She is preceded in death by brother Clay Portis, parents Evelyn Ann and J.C. Portis, grandparents were the late Annie Bradsher and Ernest P. Burton, and Agnes Mays and Daniel Franklin Portis. She is survived by brother Ernest B. Portis, his children Wesley Portis, Bradsher Portis and wife Robin Portis and their daughter Caroline Clayton Portis; Clayton Allen and husband Lee Allen, and children Ellie Allen, Leeland Allen, and Wesley Gray Allen. Ann Burton graduated from Monticello Prep School in Godfrey, IL, and attended University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for two years. She was a member of Evergreen Garden Club, the Arkansas Symphony Guild, United Daughters of the American Revolution, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. A visitation will be held on September 30, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham St., Little Rock, AR, 72205 (501)666-0123. The burial will be in Lepanto at Potter?s Cemetery.
