Biography: Samuel Thomas "Tommy" Braswell, 62, of Little Rock, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at UAMS. A sweet, funny, Southern gentleman of impeccable tastes, Tommy found his life calling as an interior designer. He lived a lifestyle that he so effortlessly shared with his home design clients. He was also known as the Captain of ?A Party in a Minute,?. Tommy loved hosting family, friends, and neighbors in the homes he shared with his partner Marshall Peters. Fastidious with his plans, Tommy?s guests could count on a table generously adorned with delicious food, pressed linens, polished silver and a bouquet of flowers, whether it was a birthday celebration or a game of bridge. When asked about his favorite flower, Tommy always replied, "The last one I saw." Born July 22, 1956, in Crowley, Louisiana, Tommy was the youngest child of the late Joe Ned and Elaine Bateman Braswell. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1974 and attended college at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Tommy is survived by his partner of forty-two years, Marshall Peters; sister Rebecca Foster (John), nephew Matt Foster, nieces Linsay Foster (Siona) Tusieseina, and Lynn Braswell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Ned and David Braswell. Visitation will be held at noon before the memorial service at 1:00pm which will be Wednesday at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn, Drive, Little Rock with arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home. Tommy's family and friends wish to acknowledge the comfort and excellent care Tommy received from the doctors and other clinical staff on the floors and in ICU at UAMS. Though Tommy dearly loved them, the family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Heifer International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR 72202, "The Van", 8016 Faulkner Lake Rd., North Little Rock, AR, 72117, or the pet charity of your choice.

So sorry for your loss may you find peace and comfort in the words spoken at 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 4" Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God

I never knew Marshall without Tommy, or Tommy without Marshall. My heart broke when I heard that Tommy passed, because as life goes, we go our eays and tend to get busy with our own lives. I often thought of our crazy escapades in Shreveport and remember both of them in my heart. Love you both and always remember you with a smile on my face...

Hearing the news that Tommy died made my heart sink, and it has been heavy since. Back in little Magnolia, AR ? MHS Class of 1974, he was my best friend. We went to senior prom together and had the time of our lives. My fondest memory of him is riding around in his VW Bug singing Seals & Crofts, ?Hummingbird Don?t Fly Away? at the top of our lungs. I would have never made it through that last year of high school or that first year at SAU without him.

Tommy was a light, an eternal optimist, who always saw the humor and joy in life, even when it played bad tricks on us. My one regret is losing touch with him through these many years. I could have used that joy and light in my life across the decades.

Marshall, I was there in 1976 when you first met Tommy. He knew then that the two of you were destined to spend the rest of your lives together. And so it was. I can?t imagine the sorrow you are feeling. Please know my heart hangs with yours, though I?m sure not as low.

Much love to all who loved Tommy.

Although I only knew him in a professional sense, Tommy was always a sweetheart! He was kind, thoughtful and cheerful. Even in his illness, he would always be thinking of others and never complained. Will miss him much!!

Having know Tommy with Marshall for most of the beginning of their years together, I want to express what a beautiful soul he was for everyone that ever met him. He was such a kind, talented and sweet man! We always had a lot of fun with the 2 of them and I feel they did with us cousins also. His sister Rebecca and her family were a big influence on our fun as well! We will mis Tommy and grieve for his family and they?re loss. May he celebrate life with his mother and father and 2 brothers in heaven!

What a beautiful tribute to such an incredible man. When I think of Tommy it is with memories of grace and joy and such overwhelming kindness. He was someone always ready to listen and help no matter what was happening and he always made me feel like I was the most important person in that moment. He made a difference to so many and will be missed so very much. My love and thoughts are with you Marshall.

My love and prayers go out to Marshal, Rebecca, John, Lindsay and Matt.
I just hope God took a lot of pictures of heaven, before Tommy got there, so I'll be able to see the before and afters.
