I was also a child in the early 60s awaiting to watch Captain Kangaroo every morning and watched Rev. Rufus J. Womble give a morning devotion to the listening audience. As Mark Loveless (above comment) mentioned, I too, remember his closing remarks, "God bless you....this day!"~~~God's blessings to his family.

Watching Captain Kangaroo as a child, I have always remembered Rev. Womble doing a brief benediction at 7:55. Being a little kid at the time, I don't remember any specifics, but I can never forget his closing, "God bless you...this day". That's been over 50 years ago now, but rare is the morning I don't think of Rev. Womble and the blessing he started every school day with. Thank you, Reverend.

Great man of God! I finally lost meeting you face to face. Were it not for the internet I would not have even known that you ahave gone Home. When you promised to visit us in Nigeria in 1991, all Christians were eager to meet you. Well, the Lord knows why you were unable to do so. We all enjoyed the books you sent to us, especially "Wilt Thou Be Made Whole?" The Holy Spirit has used the books to transform our lives and ministries. Only heaven cojuld tell how long the imjpact has been.
Rest in the Bossom of our Lord and Saviour and be sure that your works and zeal for the healing of the nations (in the name of our Lord Jesus)continues and shall never die.
Long live your ministry back at home.
