Biography: Evie Irene Bearden Graw, age 92, of Little Rock, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at her home. She was born in Lonoke County to the late Thomas and Ella (Hinton) Bearden. She grew up near Cabot on a Farm and attended a small country school called Shilo. Later, she attended Cabot High School. After High School she moved to Little Rock where she worked for Sears as a sales clerk. She married Russell Graw, Sr. in 1941. Their only child, Russell, Jr. was born January 14, 1942. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she was in the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Women’s City Club, the Salvation Army Auxiliary, the Briarwood Garden Club, the Creative Garden Club, the Order of the Eastern Star, Esther Chapter 217, AARP Chapter 34; and she loved to play bridge and was member of several bridge clubs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Russell Charles Graw, Sr, who died in 1990; and by six brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her son, Russell Graw, Jr. of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2007 at Ruebel Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Dr. Karen K. Akin and Bro. Bill Bearden. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Because Evie loved flowers, they are welcome. Memorials, however, may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of the donor’s choosing. Russell, My deepest condolences for your loss. I remember learning to play bridge from your Mother and Dad when we were all newly-weds. Your Mother was a gentle and caring person, and I will remember her love of beauty, and most of all, the joy she took in being your Mother.

Our Prayers are with you. We enjoyed talking to her when we saw her last time 2 years ago in Louisiana. She will be greatly missed.
