Biography: James ?Howard? Davis 88, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the John L. McClellan Veterans Hospital. He leaves behind his beloved friend of 40 years, Jim Wierdsma, 2 sisters, Ruby Henry (James), Linda Retzloff; 2 brothers, Jimmy Davis (Ruth), J.O. Davis (Susan). Howard loved music and spent many years as the pianist at Plum Bayou Baptist Church, Wright, Arkansas. He loved playing the piano and was always willing to play anytime he was asked. He loved old radio shows and acquired a large collection of old movies that he enjoyed watching. A private burial is planned. Ruebel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jim, I am so sorry for your loss. Howard will be missed by everyone who knew him. I know this will be a big change for you. It is so great to see your neighbors rally around and support you. I am grateful that you live where you do.

Jim, I am heartbroken and will miss Howard's beautiful playing that would greet me as I walked into the UAMS Institute on Aging. Sending thoughts are prayers your way.

The last time we both saw Howard, he was waiting for Jim at UAMS. We asked about the pianos in the lobby, and he played several numbers for us. Such a delight, it made our day. He is missed. Condolences to his family and Jim.

Jim and Davis Family, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Howard and offer my condolences in this loss. I spoke with Howard from time and time at various neighborhood affairs and always found him to be jovial with such as easy, kind manner. Susan and I always considered Howard and Jim as our friends. Howard played the piano beautifully on many occasions and had an engaging sense of humor. May he Rest In Peace.

Howard was a good neighbor and a tireless supporter of our neighborhood - he was faithful attending Crime Watch meetings, Garden Club, Downtown Neighborhood Assn., and other civic groups. We are saddened at his passing. Our condolences to his family and Jim, his close friend.
