Biography: Howard A. Moum of Little Rock, died April 22, 2007. He was born April 19, 1920, to the late Alfred and Ragna Hanson Moum in Landa, North Dakota. He was a graduate of Bottineau M.S.U. and the University of North Dakota, where he received a bachelor of law degree and awarded a juris doctor. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity.. Howard practiced law in Beach, North Dakota, for 10 years, serving as States Attorney for six years and City Attorney for two years. He was County Judge for Golden Valley County in 1954. He was admitted to North Dakota, Texas and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar Associations. In 1955, he accepted a position with West Publishing Company. In 1955, Howard was transferred to Dallas, Texas Territory where he met and married his wife of 47 years, Johnnie Allison Moum who grew up in Morrilton, Arkansas. In 1987, Howard retired after 32 years of distinguished service as a sales representative for West Publishing Company in Dallas. Howard was a Mason and a Shriner. He also belonged to Elks, as well as the Texas, Dallas and Pulaski County Bar Association A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Second Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Karen Akin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72227, Boy Scouts of America Troop 245, or a charity of your choice.
