Biography: Sarah Woolum Beadle passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on February 19, 2018 at the age of 96. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, and a faithful friend to many. Sarah was a long time Little Rock resident, born in Pine Bluff, AR to Lillian and J.B. Woolum. She was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, and attended what was then called Mississippi State College for Women, graduating with a B.A. in English. Following graduation, she moved to Little Rock with her parents, where she met her future husband and the love of her life, Ralph. They had 60 happy years together and raised four adoring children: Beverly (George Foster), Kathy Turner (Tom), Janet Nye (Alan), and Danny. Sarah had a full life, staying active with service organizations. In the 1950s she was a member of the Women's Emergency Committee to Open Our Schools. As a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 68 years, she served countless hours in many organizations, including the Girl?s Auxiliary, Women?s Missionary Union, Vacation Bible School, and various church committees. One of her greatest joys was teaching citizenship to immigrants in Friendship International and she was a faithful member of the Tele-Bible class for the last 13 years. Sarah and Ralph were ardent supporters of the Arkansas Razorbacks and attended football games well into their 80s. Before Ralph retired they took many trips to tropical ports of call as a part of his employment with IBM. After Ralph?s retirement they took numerous trips with their brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Marilyn Beadle of Schenectady, New York. Sarah lived out her last years at Stonehaven Assisted Living in Maumelle, AR where she was lovingly cared for. The family is forever grateful to all the staff of Stonehaven, who loved our parents for nearly ten years, as well as to Arkansas Hospice who so tenderly cared for our mother. Sarah is survived by her four children, and four grandchildren: Libby and Benjamin Nye and Liz and Sarah Beadle. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, her parents Lillian and J.B. Woolum, and her daughter-in-law Wendy Beadle. Burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 9:00 am. A memorial service to celebrate Sarah?s life will follow in the Immanuel Baptist Church Chapel at 10:00 am, officiated by Dr. Rex M. Horne, Jr. The family will greet guests following the service. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Missions Fund, 501 N. Shackleford Rd. Little Rock, AR 72211.

Beverly,
I was so sorry to hear about your mom. I feel like I knew your parents most of my life through the Ladds. They were part of every celebration the Ladd's ever had as was I. They were amazing people and always so nice to me. You and your family are in our prayers.

Randy and I are so sorry to hear about your mom. She was so sweet and was a wonderful neighbor to us on I Street. She was always so thoughtful and kind to our three little girls who loved to go over there and beg for candy. Especially at Christmas they would go over and retrieve her wonderful chocolate covered peanut butter balls. She provided us wonderful memories. Our condolences to all of you.

Lots of fond memories between the Beadles and the Woffords. There must be a dinner bridge party happening now. Love and prayers during this sad time.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to Danny and all the Beadle family for the loss of your dear Mother and Grandmother. Although I never knew Mrs. Sarah she (and Ralph) must have been incredible people based on the wonderful children (and Grandchildren) they left behind. May you all be comforted by the memories you have.

I am sorry for your loss. We never seem to have enough time with our loved ones. God hates death as recorded at in 1 Corinthians 15:26. Through his son Jesus (John 5:28,29), he promises to bring back those in his memory.
