Biography: Martha Julia Davis Nichols, 79, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017, peacefully at home with her family in Perryville, Arkansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Davis and Corinne Davis, her siblings, Betty Z Davis and William Edward Davis, Jr, her son, Charles H (Nick) Nichols, Jr, and grandson, Christopher Matthew Lands. Martha leaves behind her children Chris Nichols, Jami Nichols Pfeiffer & husband Bryan, Drew Nichols & wife lorri and three grandchildren Blake Lands, Jakob Pfeiffer, and Kai Nichols. Martha was born October 24, 1938 in Little Rock, AR. She graduated Little Rock Central High School in 1956. She lived in Little Rock until moving to Perryville, AR, in 1995, where she enjoyed living on Harris Brake Lake, fishing and watching the birds. Martha was married in 1959 to Charles H Nichols, Sr and had four children that were the light of her life. She never failed to show them this and always gave them her all. Later, her four grandchildren brightened her world and she showered them with all her love and affection as well. Martha?s greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren play sports. She spent the majority of her life at Geyer Springs Ball Park cheering, supporting, and even coaching her girls? softball teams. Her kindness and caring did not stop with her family. Many times she was a mother and friend to others, always willing to help anyone in need. Martha had a long career as a nurse at Southwest Nursing Home, Arkansas Veterans Home, and ended her career at Interventional Pain Clinic, where she further showed her compassion toward others. While her family was the light in her world, to her family, Martha was the star that shone the brightest. She was loved as fiercely as she loved. Everyone that knew her will miss her. A memorial service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock, on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

Your mom was a wonderful lady - a cheerleader to every kid that played ball at Geyer Springs Ballpark, a great neighbor to watch over us, and a Terrific mom and grandma. Everyone that knew Martha loved her. I know you'll miss her - please know we all will, too. I pray God will comfort you with peace and healing.

Martha (Mom) I will miss you like my own mother, you were always such a joy to be around. I will never forget all the good times we had together. I know your dancing with the Angels in heaven and not in pain anymore. I can't wait to reunite on the other side. You were definitely a blessing in my life. Love you dearly.
