Biography: Alan Dale Hornbeck, 55, went to be with the Lord after a long hard battle to brain cancer on May 14th, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was the son of Maeline and Gene Hornbeck of Little Rock. He?s a graduate of Catholic High School for Boys and has a bachelor?s degree, in Business Administration, from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He?s survived by his mother, father, and two daughters, Haley and Hannah Grace Hornbeck. Dale was the most entertaining and outgoing person to be around. He always knew how to put a smile on your face and his sense of humor, though sarcastic, would guarantee a laugh. He was happiest at the beach and he knew everything there was to know about electronics. Dale loved his two girls, and would do absolutely anything for them. Most of all, he would rather have his life celebrated than mourned. A visitation will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home on Wednesday May 17th, 2017 from 5-6:30 pm with a rosary to follow. The funeral service will be Thursday May 18th, 2017 at Christ The King Catholic Church at 1 pm. A burial service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Carti Cancer Center and/or Arkansas Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

I have known Dale for about 35 years. We shared a condo for a couple of years and he was a groomsman in my wedding. We had many a laugh and a number of cocktails over the years. Even though we hadn't seen each other much in the last few years he will always be a dear friend to me and missed greatly!

He was a dear, lifelong friend and I will miss him greatly. He was a wonderful, devoted father and a great human being. His family is in my thoughts.

Tho we only knew him a short time, his smile and sense of humor was everlasting. His love for his children, and Andy as well, was a testament to what a great man and father he was.
