Biography: Michael Hart Hornibrook, age 54, of Little Rock, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. He was born in Little Rock to James Reaves Hornibrook and Beverly Hart Hornibrook Kidd. After serving in the U.S. Navy for four years, Michael was owner and operator of A.S.A.P. Tree Service, Inc. for 23 years. He was an avid sportsman enjoying golf, fishing, and duck hunting, especially with his cousin, Peter. He was a jack of all trades and a master of many. He gave selflessly to anyone who needed him and did everything for the ones he loved. He touched many lives leaving each a little better than he found them. He had brute strength when needed and the most, gentle touch when necessary. The world is truly better for having known him. Michael is preceded in death by his father, maternal grandparents, Katheryn B. and Edward M. Hart, and fraternal grandparents, Frances (Peggy) and James E. Hornibrook. Michael is survived by his mother; daughter, Haven Hornibrook, son, Houston Hornibrook; brother, James "Jimmy" Hornibrook; sister, Lisa Miller (David), sister, Reaves Hornibrook; uncle Peter H. Hornibrook (Judy); aunt Haven Waters (Bill); nieces and nephews, Jake Hornibrook, Anne Hornibrook, Rachel Miller, Claire Hornibrook, and Reaves Miller; grandchildren, Olivia and Mason Bogy. Also included is a host of extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Marconi on Thursday, March 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church, 1003 N. Tyler St., Little Rock. A Rosary without visitation will be held Wednesday, March 29 at 6:45 p.m. at the church. The family requests memorials be made to Oasis Renewal Center, 14913 Cooper Orbit Rd., Little Rock, AR 72223.

I am sorry that I did not know this sooner. I knew Michael years ago at Bale chevrolet and we kept up for about 10 years after that. He was always such a character and a good friend. He could tell some of the funniest stories. All it took to have a great day was an hour and a bowl of cheese dip and get Michael started talking. It was never boring for sure. He is remembered with a smile.

Lisa I'm not sure if you remember me but we went to school together I have pics of you at my bday party
I've thought about you often and when I heard about Michael I was devastated
He was my first crush at Holy Souls bc he was so handsome and cool
Later I met him at Cosmo which I'm sure you understand and he remembered me
He was in such a good place and so helpful to me
The best
Just know how much I'm thinking of all of you
I understand grief bc the years have been filled with my own grief
Just know that my thoughts are with you and please grieve at your own pace
There is no timetable
We are all different and you will eventually, hopefully feel a sense of peace again knowing his spirit will always be with you and your family
Contact me if you ever need to talk
Just know how sorry I am

To the entire Hornibrook Family: God bless you at this very difficult time. Michael was a true Friend and someone who always "had your back". Michael was sincere and honest in all his dealings, and worked extremely hard in everything he did. I knew him in the late 70s and early 80s, and knew him and saw him often in recent years also. Michael will be truly missed by all who knew him - Rest in Peace.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hornibrook family during this difficult time. I went to school with Michael and he was such a fun person to be around. Always joking around and being mischievous. But you followed along because he was a magnet and you couldn't help but want to be around him! Another one from the hood gone but will never be forgotten!

Jimmy, you and the entire Hornibrook family have been in my prayers for the past week. I echo all the sentiments written on line and expressed at the funeral at Michael. I could go years and not see him but when I did it was like no time had passed. He is a part of a lot of my childhood memories and part of quite a few fun adult memories. The love that everyone felt for him was so evident yesterday and I hope you and your family find some comfort in knowing how much he was loved. Continued prayers for you all

I am very sorry to hear the news about Michael. My sincere condolences go out to the members of the Hornibrook family. I was not around Michael a lot but he treated me like a good friend . There would be years between the times our paths would cross, but he always remembered my name. He liked to have fun and always had a great laugh and big smile on his face. Michael was a nice guy and a very hard worker. I last visited with him while he was working on a tree job near my home. When I was leaving I said "we are not as young as we used to be, be careful up there in those trees." I will keep the Hornibrook family in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest sympathy foes out to Michael's family & extended family and dearest friends. It's obvious from the outpour of condolences found in the pages of this memorial, just how vast the void his absence will leave on this earth. He made his mark on so many of us that is for sure. And although I?d not seen Michael in many years, I?ve known him since 5th grade and I?m very grateful that we had recently reacquainted and kept in touch through Facebook. I will never forget Michael or his antics. May he forever fly in the light!

When I found out about Michael, I felt incredibly sad, and cried. Michael ran real deep, as I've known him since grade school and playing Tball, then baseball. Michael was a larger than life presence even then, and if he pitched, we knew we would win. For me, Michael was a protector, with a huge ?Hart,? the heart of a warrior, a wounded warrior, not unlike myself. When I would be around Michael, I always felt more safe, secure, and confident, as we connected at the heart level. When we last connected, he went out of his way to come by my house to visit my 10yo daughter?s carport sale. I remember his gentle spirit and fun younger self shining through as he bargained with her. He still paid ?top dollar,? in advance, for a special order rainbow loom bracelet with Harley colors, then bought a silly pair of sunglasses, and rode off on his motorcycle wearing them. When I shared with my daughter the sad news, she said, ?yes, I remember him, and we still have the bracelet I made!? This is a huge loss, as Michael was my friend, and I will miss him. I will also miss the service Thursday due to planned travel, but would want to give everyone a hug. I extend my love to his family.

Yesterday, I tried save on here and the pc I was using blocked me. I was feeling disbelief and great sadness.

This morning, I feel a calmness.

My memories of Michael are from St Edwards and Catholic High. Michael, was a character, a lil defiant, especially wearing "saggy\highwater" jeans and caring.

May God give Michael's family and everyone strength during this diffult time.

God bless everyone.

Therefore, with a heavy heart, I wanted to let you know how much Michael meant to me & my family. I did not know Michael very well but a few weeks ago my cat was stuck in a tree for over two days. Michael brought his crew out at 7 am and he got in his bucket truck and grabbed her out of the tree for me. He didn't even consider charging me for the act. It was an act of true kindness and heroism that I will never forget. I will be praying for peace for all of his family.

To the entire Hornibrook family - I am truly sorry for your loss.
I remember meeting Michael for the first time when we were 11 or 12 years old over at St. Johns in "the woods" where we all ran around together for so many years!
As adults I only saw Michael from time to time as he and his tree crew were working and we would exchange a few words. Michael was always warm, friendly and very passionate about whatever was on his mind !!
I always will remember Michael as being that kind and sympathetic friend for my brother Lewie when he needed it.
Michael's entire family are in our thoughts and prayers at this time.

My heart goes out to all the Hornibrook family. I met Michael in 1977 and we became immediate friends. We had many good times near and far with never a dull moment. You gave me a place to stay when I needed one and were a friend when I needed one. To all the Duck Hunts at Brodie Bend and places in between I will miss you my friend.

Michael was certainly one iof a kind and I was never around him that he didn't make me laugh . My life is so much richer for having him in it. Although I had not seen him in far too long, my love for him never diminished. May the family find peace and comfort in knowing that he was truly loved by so many. May God hold you tight in his loving arms and let you feel that he is taking very good care of him.

Beverly and all those Hornibrooks, I am so sorry for your loss. I know he was way too young and apparently too vibrant. My thoughts are with you at this time. Robbie

I grew up with Michael and was always in awe of his "bigger than life" spirit. I have said before that Michael was "one of a kind". He will be missed by many and the world will be a little smaller without him in it. God rest his soul.

Father, we ask You to send Your peace to those persons who are mourning. Continue to surround them with family, friends and loved ones who will offer words of comfort. Give them sweet and restful sleep. Father, remove the spirit of heaviness, and give them garments of praise. In due time, bless their lives to overflow with laughter and joy again. As they take refuge in You, please help them to put their trust in You. Holy Spirit, we ask that You settle the hearts and minds of those who are feeling any guilt, resentment, bitterness, or anger. Help them not to look back but to press forward.

Amen

Such a great soul. He just cut some trees down for us not too long ago. I remember meeting Michael with Holly back in 1982 or 83. Once you meet Michael and you like him and he likes you, he was loyal friend for life. RIP Michael. You will be missed by anyone that met you.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hornibrook family. If you knew Michael, you liked him. Such a playful and fun person. If you asked him for help, he dropped what he was doing to help. I knew Michael for about 25 years. I came to love him very much. I will miss you brother.

We never get over it, but we get through it. I understand. My prayer for all of you is you will find the peace I have found. Remembering. God's grace is sufficient, even though sometimes we really don't understand for awhile.

I can only say that I love you. I miss you. I am devastated. We just had a long conversation three days ago. I got to hug your mom today. Jimmy and Lisa too. No one will ever be the same without you. If only I could have done something - if only if only. My prayers go out to your family, your children and your grandchildren. Please let us know you are at peace. Send us a wink. You are with Louie, Joey, Keith, David Michelle, Todd Laing, so many we all love and miss too. I will see you at that table with Tara. ❤️❤️
