Biography: Janet Ederington Hurley died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Parkway Health Center. She was born on April 12, 1919, in Warren, AR to Louis and Nettie Wilson Ederington. She attended Fairmont College in Washington, D.C. and Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Missouri where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She married Harry Hurley on March 20, 1942 and they lived in El Dorado, Arkansas and St. Louis, Missouri where they belonged to First Presbyterian Church and Kirkwood Presbyterian Church respectively. Mrs. Hurley moved to Little Rock in 2000 and lived at Parkway Village Retirement Center. Mrs. Hurley was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Virginia Ederington Crow, and her brother, Louis Wilson Ederington. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Nancy Huckabay and her husband Mike of Little Rock; Steve Hurley and his wife Janie of Dallas, Texas; and Mark Hurley and his wife Elizabeth of New York, New York. Mrs. Hurley is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin Couch and his wife Erin, Leland Couch, and Patrick Couch. Her sisters, Helen Baxley of Little Rock and Jo Ann Pugh of Portland, Arkansas also survive her. For their loving care, the family would like to thank the staff of G Hall at Parkway Health Center and Mrs. Hurley’s caregivers, Carol Oliver, Gladys Munson and Shemikia Ross as well as Mildred Pitts of Baptist Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
