Biography: James Earle ?Jimmy? Pritchett, a life time resident of Little Rock, died November 22, 2016 at the age of 58. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Nina and his beloved daughter Lauren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Leland ?Jayme? Pritchett, who spent his last hours rocked to sleep in his father?s loving arms. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father Jimmie Lee Pritchett and Earle Ninde Pritchett both of Little Rock. Jimmy was born in Little Rock and educated in Little Rock Schools and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1980 on the Chancellor?s List, as well as the National Dean?s List. Jimmy was employed by Capitol Wholesale Florist for 8 years and then began a career with the City of Little Rock Department of Housing & Neighborhood Programs that saw him rise up from the position of Code Enforcement Officer through virtually every supervisor position in the department, ranging from Senior Code Officer to Supervisor, Division Manager and ultimately, Department Director, where he was responsible for overseeing the operations of Code Enforcement, Animal Services, Neighborhood Alert Centers, and the Community Development Block Grant Program. Jimmy Left the City of Little Rock after almost 16 years to pursue a career in the private sector for General Electric as the Arkansas Operations Manager for General Electric Modular Space, but after 5 years, he returned to the place he loved doing what he loved, coming home to the City of Little Rock as Coordinator of the Homeless Service, working to develop new programs as well as implementing the ten year plan to end chronic homelessness in Central Arkansas helping persons and families. Jimmy later went on to become City Planner for the City of North Little Rock Community Planning Department until the time of his passing. Jimmy was also employed for over 15 years as a delivery contractor for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette rising every morning in the early hours delivering the newspaper to his neighbors, a job he loved because of the appreciation he experienced from his customers, particularly those who were ill or disabled that he helped. Jimmy loved animals and was a supporter of Animal Rescue and Conservation Efforts.
