Biography: James Earle ?Jimmy? Pritchett, a life time resident of Little Rock, died November 22, 2016 at the age of 58. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 34 years, Nina and his beloved daughter Lauren. He was preceded in death by his son, James Leland ?Jayme? Pritchett, who spent his last hours rocked to sleep in his father?s loving arms. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father Jimmie Lee Pritchett and Earle Ninde Pritchett both of Little Rock. Jimmy was born in Little Rock and educated in Little Rock Schools and graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1980 on the Chancellor?s List, as well as the National Dean?s List. Jimmy was employed by Capitol Wholesale Florist for 8 years and then began a career with the City of Little Rock Department of Housing & Neighborhood Programs that saw him rise up from the position of Code Enforcement Officer through virtually every supervisor position in the department, ranging from Senior Code Officer to Supervisor, Division Manager and ultimately, Department Director, where he was responsible for overseeing the operations of Code Enforcement, Animal Services, Neighborhood Alert Centers, and the Community Development Block Grant Program. Jimmy Left the City of Little Rock after almost 16 years to pursue a career in the private sector for General Electric as the Arkansas Operations Manager for General Electric Modular Space, but after 5 years, he returned to the place he loved doing what he loved, coming home to the City of Little Rock as Coordinator of the Homeless Service, working to develop new programs as well as implementing the ten year plan to end chronic homelessness in Central Arkansas helping persons and families. Jimmy later went on to become City Planner for the City of North Little Rock Community Planning Department until the time of his passing. Jimmy was also employed for over 15 years as a delivery contractor for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette rising every morning in the early hours delivering the newspaper to his neighbors, a job he loved because of the appreciation he experienced from his customers, particularly those who were ill or disabled that he helped. Jimmy loved animals and was a supporter of Animal Rescue and Conservation Efforts. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial gifts to Rescue Road at www.rescueroad.org, a Little Rock Dog Rescue Organization, where Jimmy?s daughter Lauren serves as Co-Director. Services after cremation will be private. ?Remember all those whom he shared a laugh, a smile, and a tear with, as you were the ones closest to his heart and you know who you are.? Arrangements are by Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock. www.rubelfuneralhome.com

Nina and Lauren,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I know how much you loved him and how easy he was for you to love in return. He had a great many friends that can help you in this process.

No words can replace his presence, but memories will help your heartache in the days ahead.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

To the Pritchett family. So sorry in the passing of your Husband and Father. I worked with Jimmy at the City of LR and while at GE. We had a lot of good times and will be missed. I worked with him as a code enforcement officer, a supervisor and then Director. Jimmy and I always were pranking each other and I always have to tell the story about when he became director and I went into his office while he was gone and "re-decorated" his office. He called me because he knew it was me........Jimmy my friend RIP and say hello to Don until we all meet again.

Nina and Lauren,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Jimmy and I worked together at the DRC for the homeless when it was first getting off the ground in 2008. I considered him as a friend as well as a colleague. He spoke of you both often and his doggies. I will miss his vibrant and giving spirit. He may have grumbled but he was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Jimmy, my friend, you will be so missed. I truly enjoyed and appreciated your friendship and our talks. You are a special friend and a very kind person and the world will miss that but heaven has gained that special person. I have thought about you lots since you and my husband had strokes at the same time. We will meet again one day my friend.

While I only knew Jimmy for 5 short months as co-workers for the City of NLR, from day one he made me feel welcomed and shared laughter and jokes. He will be remembered for his welcoming smile and joyful personality. My sincere Prayer is for the Love of Christ to fill the void in your hearts and fond memories to fill your minds until that great reunion day.

Nina and Lauren,

My thoughts and prayers are with you both. I found out about Jimmy's passing on Wednesday and was lost for words. He was a good man and I know he loved his family more than anything. The thing I remember most about Jimmy was how willing he was to help a neighbor. He was always there just to listen or pick up a hammer if you needed him. We spent many an hour talking on our almost daily runs when I lived next door. I am truly sadden by his passing and will always have great memories of our time as neighbors and hold him in the highest regard. God bless you both in this difficult time.
