Biography: Ali Bachari, 66, died peacefully in his sleep Friday, November 18, 2016. He leaves his devoted wife of 31 years, Dianne (Short) Bachari; his son, Alex Karim and wife, Emily Carlson; his brother Aziz and wife Fariba along with their two daughters Shima and Ala; his sister, Fatemah; a loving sister-in-law, Barbara Swesey and her three daughters, Amy Smith and Ginny and Mandy Emerson; two great-nieces, Emma Cate Smith and Melody Carole Butler; one great-nephew, Harrison Glen Smith; and countless other close friends whom he loved like family. Ali emigrated from Iran to the United States in 1972 to further his education. He received bachelor degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Arkansas Little Rock and a master?s in Nuclear Medicine. In 1985, he was introduced to his future wife, Dianne, through mutual friends. In 1992, Ali became a naturalized United States citizen. A friend to all, Ali was known for his bright smile, courteous manners, and thoughtful acts of compassion and kindness towards his family, friends and co-workers. He loved to take part in any project or odd-job they had because he was a reliable gentleman who strived to help others in need, no matter the circumstance. He had a passion for exercise and health, running over 40 marathons and competing in many other athletic competitions. He was also an active member of Bess Chisum Stephens community center. His other passions included history, politics, social justice, and family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him, casually or intimately. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karim and Fatemah. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2:00PM at Ruebel Funeral Home. We have been out of town and did not know about your husband. We are so so sorry for this happening to you and your family. We have you in our hearts and we hope your healing will be soon.
