Biography: Gordon ?Murray? Smith, 88, went to be with his Lord on November 12, 2016. Murray was born April 20, 1928 in Little Rock, Arkansas and was a lifelong Arkansan. He was employed in the insurance field for the duration of his career, until he retired from Central Licensing Bureau. Murray was a United States Navy Veteran. He was also involved for many years in the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout Master and received a Silver Beaver Award. Murray also authored and published the children?s book, Animals Are Kids Too, a compilation of bedtime stories he told his children. He was a life-long member of First Christian Church, attending the Mixers Sunday school class. Murray was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Esther Murray Smith and by his wife, Mary Ann Strack Smith. He is survived by his second wife, Mary Ann Fisher Smith. He was blessed to be father to six children in his lifetime who survive him and, he is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Boy Scouts of America.
