Biography: Edward Cahan, 95, of Little Rock, Arkansas entered Heaven Friday, October 21, 2016 at St. Vincent?s Hospital in Little Rock with his family by his side. ?Eddie? was born July 3, 1921 in Sherman, Texas to Edward and Mary Mounger Cahan. He is preceded in death by a sister, Donna Kalahar. He graduated from Sherman High School and received his BS degree from Austin College, where he was President of the Student Body and a member of Drake fraternity. During World War II, he was a crew chief with the 652nd Bomb Squadron Reconnaissance in the 8th Air Force stationed in England. He married Florence Griswold on November 24, 1951 in Sherman?s Central Christian Church. They have shared 65 blessed years together. He worked for Anderson Clayton, Food Division, in Dallas, Texas as a sales manager of Edible Oils Division. He moved to Decatur, Illinois in 1971 where he worked for Archer Daniels Midland Company as a Vice President of Food Oils. He retired from there in 1990. He enjoyed playing the piano and golf but his real love was fishing with his buddies. Eddie was a true gentleman loved by all. Eddie?s family would like to thank his caregiver, Claudia, the staff at St. Vincent?s and many others at Woodland Heights. He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Carol Pickett (David) of Dallas, Texas and Cathy Alexander (Al) of Little Rock, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, Paige Rice (Kyle) of Fort Worth, Texas, Preston Pickett of Dallas, Texas, John Alexander, Austin Alexander and Sarah Alexander all of Little Rock, Arkansas; 1 great-grandson, Kaden Rice of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters, Charlene Lengkeek and Shirley Hill as well as several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Eddie?s life will be held at St. Andrew?s Anglican Church, 8300 Kanis Rd., Little Rock on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family requests memorials be made to Central Christian Church, 650 W Williams Street, Decatur, IL 62522.

What a great man! We have fond memories with you, Cathy and Al, which include Eddie and Flo. As others have stated, he was a true gentleman who loved his girls with a radiant love evident to those around him. Our thoughts and prayers are toward you at this time.

Eddie lived a long, happy and productive life but there is never a right time to say goodbye to such a good man. We send our sincere condolences to Florence, Cathy, Carol and the entire family and to his many friends throughout the country and the world. His gentle kindness will be remembered by many people for many years.

I was a young and "green" clerk when I went to work for the Oils Division at ADM. Mr. Cahan was a very kind, considerate, and encouraging executive that always spoke to and acknowledged all of us on a daily basis. A class act! I am very sorry for your loss.
