Biography: Robert Louis Goza, age 69 of Little Rock, passed away on June 2, 2016. He was born to Jasper Sidney Goza and Bessie Russell Goza in Camden, AR on August 20, 1946. Robert?s childhood was spent in Lewisville, AR where he, his mother, and siblings lived with his grandmother (Ola Russell) and Uncle (Ruby Russell). After graduating from Lewisville High School, Robert went on to study at the University of Houston and the University of London. He graduated with degrees in Architecture and English. The majority of his life after college was spent in Little Rock, AR where he lived the remainder of his days. In his architectural career he worked for Wittenberg, Deloney and Davidson, Baptist Health, and was the Director of Facilities and Grounds for the Arkansas Secretary of State. Most recently he was dedicated to his job in Hospital Administration at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as the Director of Clinical Facilities Planning. Outside of his career Robert had a lifelong passion for music (piano, organ, and opera) and enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also had a strong love for traveling and planning trips, which he enjoyed sharing with his two children. He was a proud and devoted father above all else. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Betty Goza Daugherty (Gale), and his brother, Jasper ?Buddy? Goza. He is survived by his two children, Olivia Worthen Goza of Julian, CA and Ian Russell Goza of Little Rock, AR, as well as his brother William Lee Goza (Bobbie Jean) of Lewisville, AR. His nieces and nephews include Gayla Daugherty Teague (Clifford) of Stamps, AR, Billy Bob Daugherty (Mary) of Winona, TX, Bill Goza (Elizabeth) of Lewisville, AR, Rob Goza (Diane) of Texarkana, AR, and Adrienne Goza Villar (Russell) of Houston, TX. A funeral service will be held at St. Mark?s Episcopal Church in Little Rock, AR at 11am on Wednesday, June 8, and a graveside service will be held at 4:30pm the same day at Wilson Cemetery in Lewisville, AR. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to UAMS for the Cord Blood Bank of Arkansas.
I didn't know about your dads passing until several days ago. I remember him as a kind-hearted gentleman who rarely spoke harshly. He adored you both and that was obvious! I haven't seen him in years, but I would have liked to have told him that I had all the respect for him in the world for him. We had many fun conversations, mostly about travel and both of you (back in the days). Just know your Memphis family is here when you are ready.
