Biography: Michael Allen Lasiter, age 50, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Michael was born in Little Rock on April 1, 1966 to Mannie Allen Lasiter and Hannah Finley. He is survived by his wife, Caroline McCrary Lasiter, three daughters, Leslie Lasiter, Hannah Lasiter, Jett Lasiter and one son Michael McCrary "Mac" Lasiter. He is also survived by his two sisters, Christy Schmidt (Mark) and Holly Woprice (Dave), his mother Hannah Finley, nieces, Anna Schmidt, Gracie Woprice, Caroline Stacy and nephews Mason Woprice and Burton "Trey" Stacy, III. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Mannie Allen Lasiter. Michael graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School in Little Rock. Michael was the founder and owner of Redstone Construction Group, a business he grew to become one of the premiere contractors in the state, employing hundreds of Arkansans for over 25 years. Michael expanded his paving and asphalt company into many areas including building, recycling, excavation, real estate, the quarry business and more. Michael was a do-er not a talker. Because of his "No Fear" attitude, Michael set up the "Redstone Family" to grow and thrive past his lifetime through careful planning and positioning key, valuable people. Michael enjoyed spending time with his friends, family and most importantly, being a father. He enjoyed many outdoor sports including, biking, boating, skiing and aviation. He was a lifelong car aficionado. Michael's competitive spirit and enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed, but will live on in all who knew him. The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and friends who constantly went above and beyond their professional duties to give Michael the best care during his recent period of hospitalization. No requests for help, information or support went unanswered, regardless of the time of day or night. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm pm on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at Pulaski Heights Methodist Church in Little Rock. An additional service celebrating Michael's life will be held on Saturday, June 11th at 11:00am at 13526 County Farm Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Michael Lasiter Memorial, The Big Dam Bridge Foundation, 1818 N. Taylor St., #157, Little Rock, AR 72207. Found you at the beginning, in the rough when creativity, hard work, and unconditional love came natural. We were excited about life! Ten years, two beautiful girls, and our company a success is not a failure. No matter how long or short relationships are we created more in that time than most do in a lifetime.
I remember going to Stuttgart to look at the first asphalt plant. We were frozen And were dodging the cold inside the control room. You asked me if I thought you should buy the plant, that you didn't know if you could make it work. I remember that no other words came to my mind but my reply, "Michael, you can do anything."

Dear Michael,

When our souls first met, we knew then that this relationship, this friendship would have a genuine meaning.

In our mind's eye you will always be an awesome father to your children, a great friend and companion.

Your legacy is a testament to all of the good, hard working people at Redstone and their accomplishments working alongside you.

Your pride and confidence in what your team could do made all this happen.

May your courage, bravery, unwavering determination, and optimism for the future, abide in all of us.

The outpouring of love for you over these weeks has inspired and awakened us because this love is an eternal blessing and all we really ever have and need. May this love always be with you.

May we celebrate, cherish life and love from your love of life.

Forever more, may our memory of you be a blessing.

What a wonderful memorial service Wednesday at Pulaski Heights Methodist for my friend Michael Lasiter! So glad we drove down to attend, it will be a good memory. I met Michael at age 15 in high school and we became close friends for the next dozen years, until I moved to Northwest Arkansas. I always admired and looked up to him. Always a positive, forward looking can-do attitude. A really great guy. Thoughts and prayers to the Lasiter family during this tough time.

Caroline,

I've known Michael, as well as Manny as I've been in the heavy highway and mining/crushing business since I was 14 years old. As I always told Michael, call on me if you need me, but call especially if you don't need me.

All of our prayers for you, your wonderful family, and all of Michael's many, many friends.

Words cannot describe Michael Lasiter. Simply put, he was an incredible man. In my short time of knowing him he taught me so much - things I will carry with me the rest of my life. Without a doubt he was the hardest working individual I ever met, and I am forever grateful for having the privilege to work beside him.

I pray for Caroline, Jett, Mac, Hannah, and Leslie. May God give you peace during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Michael. I will never forget you.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a wonderful man and close friend to my husband. He was taken entirely too soon and our hearts and prayers are with his wife and children. He was pivotal in helping with the adoption of our two beautiful children almost nine years ago, giving us a gift that we are forever thankful for. He leaves behind a great legacy in his company, Redstone but for my family, he leaves behind an even greater legacy - a legacy that will endure through many generations - the legacy of a family. With deepest sympathy and sincere gratitude, we are so very sorry for your loss. We will keep you and the children in our prayers Caroline. May our Jehovah Shalom keep you in peace and comfort you during your time of mourning.

I met Michael when we were small boys. His grandparents rented a apartment next door to their home to my grandmother Etta Knippers. We would play in the dirt with our matchbox cars in their backyard. Years later, I was able to get reacquainted with Michael. He hired me to work for him at Lasiter/RedStone Construction Company. I am so thankful we were able to reconnect. He turned out to be a great man. He did so much to help so many. He has left a great legacy for us all to remember him by. He is going to be missed.

I first met Michael when we were small boys. My Grandmother Etta Knippers rented the apartment from and next door to Michael's grandparents. I still remember the weekends we spent at our grandparents homes. We would play in the dirt with our matchbox cars. Several years ago our paths would cross again when he hired me to work for him at Lasiter Construction. I am thankful for the chance we had to get reacquainted. Our grandparents would have been proud. Michael was a great individual and a blessing to all who knew him. He left a great legacy for us to cherish. My deepest heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Michael was such a wonderful neighbor to us. We will always remember how quick he was to lend a friendly hand, and how generous he was with his helpful advice. Even when a tree from our yard fell on his house, Michael still reacted with unfailing good humor. It was a pleasure to know him and our family has been truly saddened by his passing. Our thoughts are with you, Caroline, Jett and Mac, at this most difficult time.

Michael was an elite person. He built an empire that will endure long after his passing. He was a gift and he left behind the knowledge to succeed in every person he associated with. His ability to relate to each individual at their level was unmatched. His work ethic ensured not only his success, but everyone around him as well.
I am very saddened. May God bless his family in his absence.

I had tons of respect for Michael. Every time I saw him he would always have something funny to say and would ask me how I was. He was just so quick on his feet and funny. I will always remember that about him. When we would talk he would listen to what I had to say.

Its very rare to meet a man that is extremely successful but is also very kind. I had nothing but the utmost respect for the guy. My prayers are with his family. The world is a darker place without him for sure.

In one work to describe Michael ?WOW?.

Phenomenal guy, smart, hardworking compassionate in private. Did not want you to know he was :-). Helped many people without getting credit for it.

Self-built a successful business, but more than anything built a family at Redstone. You couldn?t help but love the guy. Simply impressive.

I lost many people in my life time, but never felt any loss like his. A friend, a boss, a mentor and a guy I enjoyed being around. He would challenge you to the utmost, mentally and physically. Always pushing the envelope of things.

Leslie, Hannah, Jett and Mac, you had a hell of a dad. I am sure you have some of his ?special thing? in you for he was very special.

Michael, I miss you buddy.

My cousin Michael was one of a kind - always smiling - quick wit and a twinkle in his eye. I admired him for the father, and husband and businessman he was. He and his wife Caroline were gracious and opened their home to the Lasiter family for our annual Christmas parties in the years after his dad Mannie died. I will never forget this kindness.Michael as the first grandson and person to carry on the Lasiter lineage held a special place in our family . He will be very missed and he was so loved by all of us.
