Biography: Arthur Nelson Peters Jr., 90, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away April 9, 2016. He was born March 13, 1926, in Little Rock to Arthur Nelson Peters Sr. and Brooksie Seamans Peters. Arty, as he was known by family and friends, went on to serve in World War II. It was while serving under Gen. Patton in the Battle of the Bulge that he received his Purple Heart. It was also during his military service in Europe that Arty began a lifelong appreciation and interest in art. After returning from the military Arty graduated from the Chicago Art Institute, and began a successful career as a commercial artist working on a variety of projects, including the Razorback Logo worn throughout the 1960?s and 70?s. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings. Arty is survived by four nieces and nephews, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Roselawn Memorial Park. May the food memories of this gentleman warm your heart during this period of loss.

Art was such an inspiration to those of us who knew him at the Jim Dailey Center. The smile was always there in addition to his independence!
