Biography: Barret Joseph Jones, born March 16, 1987, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2016. Barret was a graduate of Catholic High School for Boys, a lifelong Razorback fan, and a numbers whiz. He was driven by a fascination with how the world works. His inquisitive mind and innate curiosity led him to teach himself how to write computer code in middle school and to become the technology guru for his whole family. His writing, like his intelligence, was fluid, precise and persuasive. He was always ready to debate current events and how things should be made better. He even had a way of perfectly creating a word where none was quite sufficient, such as someone "arguvating" him. His body and his heart worked with that same empathic intuition. He was a natural athlete and could pick up any athletic skill or technique just by watching someone else. He was incredibly loyal and was an ardent defender of those closest to him. His family and friends were precious to him, and he could read and appreciate their emotions without needing words. Barret was a young man who was greatly loved and who will be missed by his parents, Judy and Jerry Jones, his brother and sister-in-law, Grant and Martha Jones, his two dear nephews, and his grandparents, Mary Mae and Jodie Jones of Bentonville and Shirley and Glen Feldman of Harrison, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at 1pm at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Catholic High School for Boys, or to your favored charitable organization.
I am so sad to hear about the passing of Barret. I am so sorry about hearing this very sad news just this morning. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. I never met Barret - only heard wonderful things from his proud father, Jerry.
Jerry...you and Judy have been in my mind all day and I have been praying for all of you.
