Biography: Julie Jo Cantrell, 85 died on January 21, 2016. Born August 8, 1930 to Frank W. and Julia Albert Cantrell in Cape Girardeau, MO, she grew up in Little Rock, graduating from Little Rock High School in 1948. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Dr. Frank P. Cantrell. She is survived by her niece, Kathleen P. Cantrell of San Francisco, CA; her nephew, Frank P Cantrell Jr, of New Hope, PA; her cousins, Charlotte B. Sargent of Chattanooga, TN, and Dr. Joseph W. Matthews of Searcy, AR; and her good friend, driver, and helper, Linda Watt of Maumelle. Julie graduated from Barnard College (Columbia University) in 1952 with a degree in Geology. She worked first for an independent oil operator, and then for Humble Oil in Houston, TX. From Houston, she was transferred to the exploration department of Exxon in New York City where she wrote for and edited an in-house publication covering world-wide oil exploration and activity. Julie returned to Little Rock in 1968 and then worked for UAMS in the Anatomy Department of the College of Medicine. Julie loved books and reading, needlework of all kinds, gardening, playing bridge, and traveling. She was also interested in family genealogy, and her travels often included visits to the home villages in England and France of her emigrant ancestors. Julie was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, the National Society of the Colonial Dames in Arkansas and a former member and officer in the Aesthetic Club and the Edelweiss Study Club. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lisa Fry officiating. We would like to offer our condolences and we hope you will find comfort in the words of Hosea 13:14 which says, "From the power of the Grave I will redeem them; from death I will recover them. Where are your stings, O Death? Where is your destructiveness, O Grave? Compassion will be concealed from my eyes."

Almighty God has tolerate man's last enemy, but when we experience the fulfillment of His promise to remove death there will be no compassion nor tolerance for it. (1 Corinthians 15:26)
