Biography: Elsie Jeannette Lee Nolan, born August 16, 1922, died January 20, 2016. Mrs. Nolan was the daughter of Chester A. and Blanche Boice Lee of Little Rock. She was predeceased by her parents, all siblings and their spouses, her husband James T. Nolan, and by her sons, James Lee Nolan and John David Nolan. She is survived by her grandchildren, Kristin Lee Nolan of Washington, D.C. and Alan James Nolan of Boston, Massachusetts, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Nolan was a retired teacher who had worked with pre-school and early elementary children. She had been an active member of Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock for 72 years, and had served as an elder and deacon. She served as a Stephen Minister, and she worked in the children?s and adult education programs. Mrs. Nolan was a member of the Women?s Emergency Committee at the time when Little Rock?s public schools were closed during the integration crisis. In retirement she volunteered in the Heifer Project and other community charitable organizations. She enjoyed her grandchildren, travel and music. A resident of Presbyterian Village, she served on the council there. A private graveside service will be held. Memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church. You will be missed, Aunt Elsie, but I know the past 2 years have been very difficult for you with so many health problems. I pray you are now at peace. Niece Mary Ann Lee, daughter of your older brother, Gordon G. Lee
