Biography: Frances Jeanette Watson Johnston, age 83, passed away Friday, December 25, 2015. She was born June 2, 1932 in Little Rock to the late John L. and Frances E. Watson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward M. Johnston and brother, John L. Watson. Jr. Jeanette graduated from Mabelvale High School and later from Arkansas State Teacher?s College acquiring a degree in education. After graduation she taught at the Arkansas School for the Blind and the Pulaski County Special School District. She married her college sweetheart Edward M. Johnston and moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she raised her family and taught kindergarten. Later the family returned to Little Rock and Jeanette taught school for the Pulaski County Special School District for 31 years. She loved life, her family and playing bridge. She was an avid bridge player and reader. She also love her church family at St. James United Methodist Church as well as attending LifeQuest. She is survived by her children, Lee Ann Johnston Hogue (Louis Shoults) and John E. Johnston (Melissa R. Brown-Johnston); 9 grandchildren, Blake E. Hogue (Rachel), Jana Hogue Helton (Damon), Scott George-Johnston, Rachel M. Johnston, Zachery M. Johnston (Jessica), Melissa F. Johnston Baker (Joey), Joseph Brown, Joshua Johnston and Savannah Johnston; 13 great-grandchildren, Sam Hogue, Jake Hogue, Eli Simmons, Charlie George, Gabriel Hogue, Cali Simmons, Luke Helton, Gracie Johnston, Olivia Helton, Violet Helton, Jaxson Johnston, Elena Helton and Allie Johnston; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at St. James United Methodist Church on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Forest Hills Memorial Park.

Jeanette rocked my babies in the nursery at St. James many years ago and I never forgot her kindness and sweet disposition. The world was a better place because of her.

Rest in Peace Jeanette.You were our Barbara's 2nd.Grade teacher at Mabelvale Elementary School.
You had to chastise her one day for keeping on talking to the boy behind her.She was upset because we all knew you

also at Mablevale Methodist Church.
