Biography: We are so sad to lose Frank Michael Butts, who fell asleep in the Lord, Friday, December 18, 2015 after a difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. He was lovingly surrounded by his immediate family when he slipped away. Frank was born on October 14, 1949, in Amarillo, Texas. Early in life he attended Amarillo High School and was a lineman for the varsity football team. After graduating in 1971, he attended West Texas A & M University in Canyon Texas, where he received his Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration. He became a CPA, securing his first job with an accounting firm in Houston. His professional career of 30+ years was extensive. He specialized in auditing hospitals and nursing homes in 10 states which required a great deal of travel. He retired from corporate accounting in 2000 to enjoy his love for consulting, mentoring young people, and building model ships. He was a master craftsman in everything he did. As a faithful member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Frank worked tirelessly in the kitchen, helping to make baklava and cooking in the kitchen for the annual International Greek Food Festival. He had a great passion for studying the Bible and attended Community Bible Study. He loved to play golf and also was a member of the Pleasant Valley Country Club. For over 20 years, every July 4, he would fly to Atlanta, Georgia to run in the Peachtree Road Race despite a bad knee. Running was fun for him. He was not a fast runner but he finished every race. Frank was dedicated and loyal to his family and friends and to those he worked with, always generous to the ones he loved. Living life fully, he did strive to perfect whatever he took on. He truly had a wonderful life. He is preceded in life by his wonderful parents; Frank Charles and Lyda Taylor Butts, and his sweet sister, Candace Butts Jones. Frank is survived by his loving, younger sister, Patt Butts Birkenfeld, and his devoted wife of 37 years, Dysle Havens Butts and their 3 adult children: Laura Dysle, Frank Taylor and William (Chad). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Bible Study-Little Rock Evening Class or the Humane Society of Pulaski County A visitation will be held Monday, December 21st, from 530 to 8 p.m., with prayers at 6 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 22nd at 10 a.m. in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church followed by burial at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Frank known to us as " Honey" was a terrific big brother. Frank always loved having people around him. It?s a good thing, since it takes a fearless man to be the first to join a family ruled by six women. He was a big man with a big personality. Like a true Texan everything about his life was B.I.G. from his laugh to his size 13 wedding ring.
If one item was good, three would be better. He was fiercely loyal to the people and things he believed in. For example: his whole life, he was a Lincoln-Mercury man- never a Cadillac. He believed in working very hard and playing even harder. Nothing to him was better than a good cigar, baseball and cold beer.
Frank was always large an in-charge. He was decisive. As a self-made man he was proud to share the bounty of his efforts with those he loved. Tell him he couldn?t do something and he would go out and do it. Frank had the ability to make dreams come true. It didn?t matter if it was his dream or yours.
He loved with a huge heart. For all his size and strength, he was generous, tender and playful. He could be both impish and ornery. He loved his family, parents, parties, movies, M&Ms, science fiction and Disney. He loved to think things through and have a plan.
He loved things that would stimulate his incredible mind. Traveling seemed to feed that need, he never tired of it. He loved to plan things and strategize. He was meticulous with minute details. He loved a challenge. He always won at chess and you would see his name as top scorer on video games. Frank always pushed his body past what it could do. To him pain was just tiredness leaving the body. Even though his body has failed him, his spirit, kindness and love will never be forgotten.
