Biography: Sandra Rose Hickey, 73, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday October 25, 2015 at UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Glenn; son, J.J. and his wife, Renae; and 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Andrew, Alexa, and Ryan Hickey. Sandy was born and raised in Dierks, AR and moved to Little Rock right after she graduated college from Harding University in Searcy. After she and Glenn were married, the two of them opened their retail business, Hickey?s Sports, and they ran the business together for 18 years. Sandy then began her career at UAMS where she worked in the AHEC and Regional Programs offices for a combined 20 years. Her interests were spending time with family, reading, and practicing her faith. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ. She always put others before herself and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Henry, of Dierks, AR. A memorial service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 10 a.m. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

I too worked with Sandy in Regional Programs at UAMS. She was the most patient, quiet, gentle person I think I've ever met. I know her grandchildren will miss her so much. I'm so sorry for the family's loss of such a loving person.

What a wonderful soul Sandy was - she was an inspiration to all of us showing kindness to everyone. I worked with Sandy for 20 years and what a wonderful and faithful employee. Regional programs was lucky to have her. My condolences to her family.

My sincere condolences to the Hickey Family. I worked with Sandy at AHEC Regional Programs for many years. She was the sweetest and gentlest person. Sandy never forgot anybody?s birthday or special occasion.

I worked with Sandy for many years at Regional Programs. Such a sweet, sweet lady. I have many memories of her and stories of her grandbabies. My sincerest condolences.
