Biography: Louise M. McCumber passed away peacefully at the age of 96. She had a long and productive life. In the 1960?s, she worked as a welcoming hostess for Borden Dairy, where she was influential in the relocation of Orbit Valve from Tulsa to Little Rock. After leaving Borden Dairy, she became Director for Research, Planning, and Safety for the Pulaski County Special School District. She was instrumental in getting the state law passed that regulated the speed limit around schools located on state highways. This little powerhouse of a woman stood in the middle of the train tracks, stopping trains, so children attending McAlmont School could safely cross the tracks on their way to and from school. This action resulted in a pedestrian tunnel being constructed under the tracks for the purpose of the students? safe passage. She is survived by her six children, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. There will be a private family memorial at a later date. Dear Cousins,
I just wanted to let you know that Bill and I have been thinking about you all during this difficult time of loss. Your Mom was one amazing woman! Raising six children and having a career made her one of the first "Super Moms".
This quote by Helen Keller seems appropriate for
us all: "What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us."
All our love and sympathy, Denise & Bill Stroud

I knew Louise years ago when I had a cake decorating supply business and she was a customer. She was a very sweet lady, and I send my condolences to her family and friends.
RIP Louise.
