Biography: Glenda Kay Thornbrough Lucy, age 79 died Monday, October 12, 2015. Born in Little Rock on August 27, 1936 she grew up in the 1950?s, enjoying good times with her family. During her teens, she attended Little Rock High School and worked in the Governor?s office. An American Airlines stewardess was next on her list. Flying all over the world for the next few years she had a wonderful time meeting lifelong friends. She retired from American Airlines to start a family in the 1960?s which was a requirement back then. Raising children became her career as well as volunteering for many organizations such as the St. Francis house, Center?s for Youth and Family, The American Red Cross as well as her church St. Mark?s Episcopal. These were just a few that she loved to volunteer for and served on their boards as well. She always loved the real estate world, both the selling end, having worked for Rector Phillips Morse and the administration end being appointed by the Governor to a position at the Arkansas Real Estate Commission. She loved to play tennis, work outside, travel and design with antiques. She was one of the founders and the first co-chair of the St. Mark?s antique show and sale. A high end antique show and sale, respected nationally for many years. She loved her church St. Mark?s Episcopal serving on various committees through the over 50 years she was a member and volunteered in the administrative offices up to September of this year. She is survived by her son, Walter, daughter-n-law Rebecca, granddaughter Alexis and daughter Glenda. She is also survived by her brother Clarence Thornbrough of Dallas, TX and her sister, Betty Jo Hampel of Benton, AR as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Thelma Thornbrough and her husband Walter H. Lucy, Jr. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Mark?s Episcopal Church with the Reverend?s Danny Schieffler and Lisa Fry officiating with a reception to follow.
