Biography: Lee-Ann Jansonius, 65, of Little Rock and Galveston, TX, died on October 7, 2015 at St. Vincent Infirmary of complications following heart bypass surgery. She was born in Little Rock to the late Dr. John D. Christian, Sr. and the late Virginia Rupprecht Christian on February 23, 1950. She is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Mitch Jansonius, her brother John D. Christian, Jr., her brother and sister-in-law Neal and Linda Jansonius, four nieces and numerous close friends. She was a successful businesswoman; a partner in The Heights Gallery, an art gallery that specialized in introducing and representing works by emerging Arkansas artists for 34 years. She loved books, especially mysteries, epic poems, puns, birdwatching, exotic international travel and life at the seashore. She extremely disliked racism, sexism, gun violence and all other forms of bigotry. She will be remembered for her intelligence, her dry, quick wit and her kindness. A memorial service conducted by Dr. Ron Sisk of Loveland, Colorado, a longtime friend, will be in the chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 17th. A reception in the parlor will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to F.U.R.R., Heifer International, The American Heart Association or a favorite charity. Mrs. Jansonius' ashes will later be scattered on waterways that she loved in locales around the world. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com

Mitch,
I just read of Lee-Ann's death in the Hendrix newsletter. I am heartbroken for you and can't believe she is no longer somewhere in the world. Lee-Ann and I shared a year of growing up in Raney Hall that meant so much to me. She will always be alive in my memory.

During Lee-Ann's last weekend visit to our home, she shared some of her fondest childhood memories about her family vacations at Norfork Lake. And, we especially remember Lee-Ann's delightful smile after she caught a fish in our backyard pond. Running toward us with the fish clutched in her hands, she shouted "I caught one," which brought cheers from us all.
Spring's wild violets, the Amazon River, Sidney Moncrief, The Beatles (as a group) and Van White are some of our fondest Lee-Ann memories.

My heartfelt condolences in the loss of Lee Ann. She was a lifelong friend from elementary school through high school. I loved visiting her gallery and hearing about her travels. She was one of the kindest people I knew and I was so fortunate to call her friend. May God wrap His arms around her family and grant them peace.

I'm so sorry about Lee Ann. We knew each other through "MYF" at Winfield United Methodist downtown. I love what was written in the second paragraph of the obituary -- that's the Lee Ann I remember -- with glorious curly red hair!
