Biography: Mary Alyce Saeler Williamson, 85, passed away October 9, 2015 at home. She was born May 19, 1930 in Hermitage, AR to John Theodore & Ruth Gibson Saeler. Nicknamed "Cotton Top" she grew up in Hermitage and graduated from Hermitage High School in 1948 with many honors for her scholarship, "charm", & beauty - she wore a number of crowns. She attended Henderson State Teachers College in Arkadelphia for a year before marrying Dean Williamson who said after seeing her walk across campus his "eyes nearly popped out of his head" - she was the prettiest thing he'd ever seen and her fate was sealed. After marrying in June 1950 the couple moved to Little Rock where Dean began his successful career as a Realtor for Block Realty. They built a house in 1956 on Normandy Road and she spent the next 59 years making it a warm and loving home. Mary was a wonderful homemaker, wife, and mother. Not only was her family loved, they were adored. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, cooking, and traveling. Mary was a member of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Pleasant Valley Country Club, and Bas Bleu. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dean Williamson, a daughter, DeeDee Dickinson (Walt) of Little Rock, and a son, Dr. Tony Williamson of Butte, MT; six grandchildren, Ian Williamson (Amanda), Mary Catherine Williamson, Sara Williamson, Walt Dickinson III, Mary Alyce Dickinson, and Will Dickinson; two great children, Callie Williamson and Colton Williamson. She is predeceased by her parents and her sister Helen Saeler Dillard. The family would like to express their gratitude to Vernette Freeman, Ashley Freeman, Yvette Colbert and Theretha Jackson for their kindness and care giving. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14 at Ruebel Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 1:00.
