Biography: Istvan (Steve) Bela Lehoczky, 82, died Friday, July 10, 2015 after complications from an injury. He was born in Gyula, Hungary, the son of Istvan and Maria Lehoczky, sister Monci and brother Ocsi. He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Carol (Wagoner) Lehoczky ; his son Pista; his son Tas and his wife Anouska ; his daughter Emese and her husband Collin; his grandson, Collin Elek Boone; his granddaughter, Aniko Francis Lehoczky, a large family in Hungary and many friends around the world. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend was a freedom fighter in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. After being shot and injured, he escaped to Austria and later immigrated to the United States. After moving to Little Rock in 1975, he opened a foreign car repair shop, where he worked for 30 years. His passion for soccer led him to become one of the founders of Arkansas? first competitive soccer league (Riverdale Soccer Club) and the head coach. After which, he coached Catholic High School for 15 years. He was a past president of the local Lions Club and a longstanding member of the Andy?s breakfast club. All who knew him loved him. His gregarious spirit was infectious and he never met a stranger. He was the life of the party and tried to instill in others to ?not sweat the small stuff?. He will truly be missed and may he rest in peace. A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, July 29 at Ruebel Funeral home at 4:00 p.m. followed by a reception.
