Biography: Marie Dallas Adkins Barfield, age 91, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. She was born on January 7, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to the late Grover Cleveland Adkins and Della Landthrip Adkins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Thomas Eugene Barfield and a grandson, Jonathan Barfield. Marie was a member of the Gardenia Garden Club, Little Rock Police Auxiliary, Women?s City Club, and the Eastern Star. She was a dedicated member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 80 years and a member of the Elizabeth Sunday School Class. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Brenda Barfield, daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Phil Olinghouse, son and daughter-in-law, Cleve and Judy Barfield and daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and James Brincefield. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Marie?s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the devoted staff at Briarwood Nursing Home for the loving care they gave Marie. Marie?s wonderful life will be celebrated at Immanuel Baptist Church on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a visitation at the church. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Cleve, Mike, Penny & Mindy, we have been out of town and are so sorry for your loss & that we missed the services. We haved purchased a brick 'In Memory of' both your parents to be placed in the neighborhood park memorial area.
