Biography: Albert M. Wood, Sr., age 83, of Little Rock, died Sunday, January 7, 2007. He was born in Newburgh, Indiana on October 3, 1923 to the late Shirl and Nera (Perigo) Wood. He served his country in the United States Army and was a decorated veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathy Wood; and eight siblings. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gloria Wood; a son, Albert Wood, Jr. and wife Mary; daughter, Bonnie Wood; grandchildren, Jimie Jarry, Albert “Lee” Wood and wife Amanda, Jeremy Wood and wife Krystal; and four great-grandsons. The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Squires, Dr. Bravo, and all the Doctors and staff on the 6th floor ICU at Baptist Medical Center for their excellent care of Mr. Wood. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery officiated by Rev. Don Moore of Little Rock’s First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, the Amercian Heart Association, or to the donor’s favorite charity.
