What a great guy Jack was. I think a lot about
the good times I had with him at Centenary.
Often when a Rolling Stones song comes on the radio I remember him dancing. Good friend and a hard worker.

Godspeed Jack.

In our high school class, Jack was voted "Best All Around." That's an appropriate tribute to him. He was a fine man in every way, we were lucky to know him, and he will be greatly missed.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Jack was one of a kind. Knowing Jack for so many years blessed my life in many ways. He was more than a professional acquaintance I considered him a friend. I will never forget the legal assistance he provided this single mother going through the most terrible time of her life. Jack was full of support and direction without being judgemental. Rest in Peace my friend. God be with your family and grant the grace they need during this time.

Hi Jane. I have thought of you and Jack often since I found out about his Parkinsons. I am glad that God allowed him to ease away to Him without years upon years of suffering. I went to our Centenary yearbooks last night and flipped through the pages seeing all of us fresh faced and young. It was a priviledge to be a part of your Centenary experience. Although leaving this earth was early, he is 100% healed now. May Jesus love on you through your tears, through your memories. May your days to come find comfort in many ways through many people.

Jack was so incredibly kind to me when I was a law clerk for JLJ. He was a wonderful man who cared about everyone in the office, from the lawyers to the staff to the law clerks. I appreciate all he taught me, both professionally and ethically, about how to be an attorney. I'm honored to have known him and will miss his warm smile and personality. I'll be praying for comfort and peace for Jack's family.

Jack was a brother to me and many other friends, even if we didn't get to be together often. He set the standard for ethics, ability, civility, grace under pressure and kindness, both in his law practice and his personal life. He was proud of his family beyond measure. He is sorely missed.

Passionate. Devoted. Those of us who knew Jack from Centenary have many memories that speak to these traits. Jack will always be cherished for his generous heart and wonderful laugh. He had a great mind and always challenged us to keep up. Jack and I roomed together after college, while Jack waited for his beloved Jane to finish Centenary. No fool, he put Vanderbilt on hold while courting Jane and laboring at a job that he could do with half his brain tied behind his back. What a guy! Always a gentleman. Your family is in our prayers. Jack was an amazing man. He was such a gentleman. He was not the old attorney cliches we have all laughed about. He was an attorney that other attorneys should strive to be like. He loved his family so much. I miss the days he would share pictures and stories with me about his first grandson. Ms. Jane, I send prayers up and much love to you and your family.

My deepest condolences to Jack's family--we went to high school together and he was my prom date in 1973. We were good buddies and I'm certain he asked me because I was moving away and wouldn't be in New Orleans for my senior year--that was the kind of boy he was, and from the comments written about him, that was the kind of man he became. I know he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

I had the privilege of practicing law with Jack for a few years, knew him socially for years prior to that, and had lunch with him countless times. Jack was a great mentor and friend, and always a level-headed, calming presence in the room.

One of my favorite "Jack phrases" was---when he was referring to someone that he really admired---Jack would say that "he was a prince of a guy." I will miss Jack very much, and I will always remember him as a prince of a guy.
