Biography: Irene Elizabeth Edwards Feild, age 94, of Little Rock died Monday, February 2, 2015. ?Ms. Irene? or ?Rene? was born October 15, 1920 in Bald Knob, to Roy and Christina Edwards. She grew up in a variety of towns across Arkansas. She married ?Bob?, Robert Mills Feild, in 1949. They were best friends until his death in 2002. She graduated at 16 years old from Fayetteville High, and went on to a Bachelors in 1941 as well as a Masters of Science and Education degree in 1948 from the University of Arkansas. She loved, and taught, home economics, beginning in Siloam Springs, and retiring from the Little Rock School District in 1982. She proudly served in the American Red Cross, at Walter Reed, and Fort Sam Houston, helping many returning wounded soldiers from 1945 ? 1946. She was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for 60 years. She organized the children?s choirs, planned potluck dinners, special events, the Advent Chrismon tree, WSCS, then UMW, Me Third, Irene Elder Circle, Vacation Bible School, Altar Guild, shut-in and nursing home visits, and did pretty much any and everything else that needed doing. She and Bob were honored as Pillars of the Church in 1998. She is survived by brother, RT Edwards, sons, Charles (Chris, children Daniel and Hannah); David (children, Stuart, Mary, and Helen); and daughter, Jean Feild Camp (Ed, children Rebecca Bryan [Josh, great granddaughter, Jerah] sons, Brandon, and John Hunter). The family thanks Presbyterian Village and Arkansas Hospice staff for their care. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2223 Durwood Rd, Little Rock, AR 72207, on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11: a.m. A private burial will be held at Mount Holly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Youth Group at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

Jean, I found this obituary for your mom while researching to make sure we had your correct contact info for the reunion. I am so sorry! I can only imagine that this has been a difficult time for you and yours. In reading about her life, I can see she lived a life filled with service for others....what a great legacy.
