Biography: Jean Sharon (Sherri) Guenther passed away on the 10th day of January 2015. She is predeceased by her mother, her father and sister Linda. She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Robert, daughter, Mauri Jones, son, Brian Montgomery (Susie), son, Nelson Chenault (Heather), stepdaughter, Kristi Corbin (Eric), and one adopted daughter, Kandi Hause (Steve), twelve beautiful grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Mom left us a letter saying "God truly blessed me, though I didn't deserve it, I am very thankful. I've had a good life. I got to be part of a group that babysat new born white tigers and got to be in a Ringling Brothers Show (I?ve wanted that since childhood), and I found a wonderful man, my Robert. Can't imagine not seeing Robert, my children or Jeannine. It is my greatest wish that they all rally around one another and take good care of my Bob. Gone to rest high on that mountain, Love ya'll." In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Great Apes at The Little Rock Zoo, #1 Zoo Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205. The service is private family only. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

So very sad to read this in the paper. I worked with Sherri at Dillards. Such an awesome lady. Fun, supportive, hard-working. Every year I hang an ornament on my tree that she made for me, and I think of her. Every year when I get my Fairie house out, I think of her. And each day when I read the "Birds of Worry" that she wrote and illustrated for me, I think of her. Such a creative person! We lost touch after we left Dillards and I've always wished we hadn't. My deepest condolences to you all.

Dear Mauri, Brian and Nelson, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. I loved that woman. She helped raise us all. I especially remember her dancing at the lake when we all went camping with Ms. Phelpies. She was always such a character and earthy woman. I think that is what made her such an impact and someone I will always love and remember. Much love to you all.

Robert, Mauri, Brian and Nelson, My heart absolutely broke when I saw that you had lost your soulmate, your mom and our precious Sherri. I cherish those visits we had when she would bring her ironing down during those years that I ironed for your family. She was an AMAZING lady and I know the hole you now have in your heart from your loss. Sherri brought joy where ever you met her. It is so sad that busy lives cause us to lose touch with those that touched our lives so deeply. May God be with you all.

Dear Robert and Family,

I'm so sad to see this about Sherri. You all know how much she meant to me and was like a second mother. I remember all the times we shared and sat visiting and dinners together at the your house. My Fary picture is still hanging in my house. Her sense of humor was wonderful even when she was walking down the isles with the Dillard boys telling them jokes. She still makes me smile what a precious lady she was.

Mauri, Brian, & Nelson: I don't know if any of you remember me or not, but I worked with your mom for five years when she worked for Thorp Thomas and Alan Nussbaum. I continued to stay in touch with her for many years thereafter, For some reason, I have thought of her many times in the past several months but was unsure how to get in touch with her. My heart misses her and she will always be very special to me.

Mauri, I would appreciate your getting in touch with me, you can use my e-mail address or call me at the office (yes, after nearly 36 years I am still there) only now it is Nussbaum & Trussell. I would really like to talk to you.

We were so saddened to hear about Sherri. She was a great customer and friend that will be missed so much. We looked forward to her picking up her merchandise so that we could enjoy her sense of humor and hear her stories about her grandchildren that she adored. We will continue to pray for the family.

I was so saddened to see that sweet Sherri had gone home. She was always fun to be with and so talented I don't believe there was anything she could not do if she wanted to. I have a wonderful Proverb written by her especially for me in 1999. "We don't love qualities, we love a person; sometimes by reason of their defects as well as their qualities". I will truly miss seeing Sherri run up and down the road in her little truck.
