Biography: ?God, you keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.? Psalm 56:8 Melissa Kay Owen, 38, of Little Rock, entered the Church Triumphant on December 24, 2014. Born on April 5, 1976, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Paul and Becky Owen, Melissa was a loving mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt, companion, and friend. Predeceased by her paternal grandparents Wayne and Fern Owen and maternal grandfather Russell R. (Buddy) Fraim, Melissa is survived by her son Wesley Latham who will graduate from Catholic High School for Boys in the spring, parents Paul and Becky Owen, brother and sister-in-law Jeffrey and Kristin Owen and niece Ellery Owen, grandmother Betty Fraim, uncle and aunt Charlie and Beth Dixon and cousin Katie Dixon, and uncle and aunt Bill and Marilyn Owen. She is also survived by her special companion Bill Sterk, her two dachshunds Chewy and Peanut, and many special friends. Melissa was an honor graduate with the Class of 1994 from Bryant High School. Using her full Arkansas Academic Award scholarship, she attended Arkansas State University. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Design from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Throughout her earlier years, Melissa was involved in competitive ice-skating, runway and print modeling, dance, and school spirt squad participation. An avid Razorback fan and Disney enthusiast, Melissa?s most favorite times were spent with family and friends during summer vacations on the beaches surrounding Destin, Florida. She also enjoyed spending great times and establishing long-term relationships with friends at local establishments. As a pre-determined request, Melissa requested to donate her usable organs with the help of the Arora Recovery program. Happily, five recipients have now received life-altering gifts. Led by the Rev. Betsy Singleton Snyder, a memorial service with a reception to follow will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on January 3, 2015, at 11:00am. The family would like to thank the assisting team at UAMS for their special care and the staff of Arora, the Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency. Donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Children?s Ministry and ARORA. Arrangements are under the direction of Ruebel Funeral Home, www.reubelfuneralhome.com

Paul and Becky, I don't have the words to express how I feel. It's been years since I've seen any of you, but always thought about Melissa when I would come to LIttle Rock or pass the Trinity MDO. It's three years later and I was on facebook and seen you guys and clicked the link and read the story and was so heart broken. My prayers for strength is with you always.

Love,

Danna Tillman. ( I worked with Becky and Melissa)

Dear Paul and Becky
As you struggle to deal with your loss, please know that your friends and family are there for you. Melissa will always be remembered for her beauty and warm personality. Our girls made lasting friendships together at Pulaski Academy just as we did at Hall High so many, many years ago. May you find comfort and strength in each other and be uplifted by happy memories of Melissa's life.
Love, Cindy

Melissa & I worked together years ago. She was my buddy! When she left, we tried to keep in touch. I haven't spoken or seen her in years, but I have never forgotten her smile, or her laugh...or her dear son, Wesley, that she always spoke about. I am shocked, & saddened to learn of her passing.

Wesely, you don't know me, but I knew your Mom & knew of you. I pray that you always remember your Mom, the way she always spoke & thought of you... with love & admiration. Never let go. Be strong. Corinthians 12:9

Becky & Paul, Jill joins us in sending our deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear Melissa. We have such wonderful memories when the girls were little. We were even telling one of our granddaughters about Melissa's ice skating skills at such a young age when she expressed an interest. Paul & Becky and family, My heart is still broken and hurting. It seems so unreal, and yet I know it is. I ask the Holy Father to give you comfort and peace as only He can. I know that Matthew was at the Pearly Gates to greet her. I am here for you as you go forward and try to process this loss. Be comforted by your memories of your beautiful, sweet, loving daughter. God will suffice. Much love,

Paul and Becky, my heart grieves with yours over the death of your beloved Melissa. Paul, you will always stand out in my memory as an ?angel in a teacher suit? when our children, Chris, Nikki, and Dave were in high school in Bryant, and I remember much about Melissa through them. May God?s arms enfold you and hold you close to His heart, and by His Holy Spirit give you comfort, strength, and courage to press through this dark time. I will be praying for you two, Jeffrey, and all your loved ones.

When our love ones submit to death words cannot describe the grief and loss we may feel. Comfort is near as Isaiah 25 : 8 says, "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces. The reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
For Jehovah himself has spoken it."

God can awaken the dead as if from sleep and give them life again. (Job 14:13-15) For those whom God resurrects, death is not the end of everything.

Peace, endurance and comfort to Ms. Owens' family.

Our hearts are broken at the loss of our dear friend Melissa. Her sweet, loving, fun and sensitive spirit was one of a kind.
Her Grandfather, Buddy, and my father, Ernest, worked together for SW Bell. My father never forgot her taking the time to visit with him and frequently inquired about her before his passing last month. She was special and we loved and will miss her terribly. Out thoughts and prayers are with the family at this sad time.
