His early childhood years were spent on his parents' farm in Lynn. After graduation from Lynn High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Arkansas State University at which time he was admitted to the University of Arkansas School of Medicine. Dr. Glenn met his wife Mary Ann Templeton when he was a sophomore medical student and she was a medical technology student. After obtaining his doctor of medicine degree, he did a general practice residency at UAMS. He had a general practice residency in Walnut Ridge, AR for one year at which time he was called into the Navy. He and his wife also enjoyed traveling and visited many interesting countries and most of the United States. Wayne had a workshop and after retirement, made lots of rustic furniture giving much of it to Ferncliff Camp and his family. In the early 1970's, Dr. Glenn and Dr. Roger Bost traveled to Bolivia on a medical mission trip to help that country with a polio epidemic they were having at the time. His professional affiliations were the Arkansas Medical Society, the Pulaski County Medical Society, the Arkansas Society of Anesthesia and the American Society of Anesthesia. He was board certified in Anesthesia. Dr. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. He is survived by is wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Glenn; three daughters, Melissa Glenn, Johanna Gillenwater (Price) and Leah Glenn (Lance Mattson) and seven grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. Along with Margaret I had both the pleasure and the honor of being one of Dr. Glenn's residents.
He was a wonderful teacher with a fine sense of humor and a great view of life.
Last summer I missed him by just minutes at the Greer's ferry cabin and thought next time to surely see him.
Every minute spent with Dr. Glenn was both worthwhile and fun.

Johanna, Mary Ann and family, we have missed being neighbors with Wayne and Mary Ann, and I'll never forget Dr. Glenn showing me his latest furniture creations when I would slip through the back fence gate from our 34 Cimarron Valley home. We just saw the obituary, thanks to my parents, and we just want to express our condolences to all of you. We miss you, too! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, - David & Yuko Nelson in San Antonio.

My prayers are with all of you.
I was one of Dr. Glenn's residents in the early '70's. He was a kind, soft spoken and patient teacher. On October 31, 1973, my first day of private practice in Conway, I wondered if I could really do this without Dr. Glenn! It was his mentoring that laid a foundation for my 30 years of practice.

Mary Ann and family,
Our deepest sympathy at this time of loss. He was one of my favorite anesthesiologists to work with and taught me so much professionalism and caring that I still rely on today. He will always be fondly remembered and missed by everyone who knew him. May you find great strength in God and feel His presence at this time.

Mary Ann,
I was shocked to see Glenn's obituary this morning. I knew him when I was an intern in 1963-64. I got to know him better this past few years seeing him as a patient. He shared with me things about his family as well. Earlann and I send our deepest condolences and pray that God will help you and your family deal with this unexpected loss of your husband.
