He suffered from a long illness that began in 1999 when his heart first failed him. Then contacting staff infection that slowly brought him to the end of his earthly existence. Bill lived his life through the eyes of love. Our courageous, gentle Bill smiled and marched on without ever giving up. He had a powerful will to live and never complained about the hand he was dealt in life. Bill was cut from the mold of his father and older brother with an early love of sports and competition, extraordinary talent and determination. He was the tri-state ?punt, pass and kick? champion at age 12 and a state tennis champ at 15. Bill?s high school years were dedicated to football. He was agile and tough playing football for Hall High under Coach Koepple. In his early adult years he played semi-pro football for the Arkansas Diamonds. He was voted ?most handsome? in his graduating class. He excelled as a Boy Scout, honored as King of the Holly Ball and was a fine fisherman and wing shot. Bill was a volunteer for the Big Brother Big Sister program and has still stayed in touch with his "little brother". Bill?s dear friend, Phoebe Norman, engineered treatment and evaluation for him at the Cleveland Clinic in 2011 that helped him continue his work as a contractor. Bill found a wonderful church home that helped him to be able to strengthen his faith and contact with God. He had a tremendous belief in the "power of prayer" which he attributed to keeping him alive. His service to St. Mark?s Episcopal Church brought him much love and joy. As a young man he worked in real estate sales and as a land man for a fiber optic cable company. Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Simmen Eberle. He is survived by his father, Eugene ?Gene? Eberle, Jr.; brother, Eugene?Gene? Eberle, III; sister, Barbee James; uncle, Louis Simmen; 2 nieces; 2 nephews; and a host of cousins. I was so very sadden to hear of Bill's death. We reconnected 5 years ago when I moved back. I just spoke to him a week before his death and just celebrated my birthday with him around the first of September. I was in Georgia for my son's wedding and was eager to tell Bill all the details when I returned home. So sorry to have missed the celebration of his life at his funeral. Hard to imagine that I will not speak to him again! I pray for the Eberle family that the Lord will comfort you with peace and understanding during this difficult time. Rest in peace my dear friend Bill. Miss ya.

I was traveling when I received the news of Bill's pasing. I have enjoyed keeping up with Bill over the years and have considered him a good friend since childhood. We played a lot of golf together as kids; one of the most unbelievable athletes I have ever known. My heartfelt sympathy; he was a very good man.

Dear Gene Eberle and family --

We join the many of Bill's friends who send our condolences upon the death of this good man -your darl'n Bill Eberle.

Regardless of age, the passing of a child is a heartache no parent should have to endure; We question, asking: 'Why?'as surely this was not GOD's Plan for 'us' but it was GOD's Plan for 'Bill.' The magnificent promise of Everlasting-Life-in-Heaven for Christian Believers is a glorious thought... The thought of Bill's soul in Paradise is a perfect balm.

Please know our humble prayers will include all of the Eberle Family Tree; This includes Bill's immediate Arkansas clan as well as the cousins (from a Father with the same name), the late-Gene Eberle household from Joplin, Missouri too.

May I offer my sincere condolences. May your hearts find comfort in God's Word where it states: "He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord will wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) May your loved one awaken to a world where there will be peace, no sickness (Isaiah 33:24), and no more troubles (Revelation 21:4) throughout eternity (Psalm 37:29). May your hearts find comfort and hope in God?s Word, family, friends and good memories at this time. My deepest sympathy to you.

Dear Eberle Family: I had the pleasure of meeting Bill during my time as a volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the support group, Big League. Bill was one of the main founders of Big League which serves as the volunteer support arm for Big Brothers/Big Sisters activities and fundraising events. He was critical to to the success of Big League. Of course, he served for many years as a wonderful Big Brother. Everyone thought highly of Bill. The phrase that always comes to mind for Bill is that he was a great guy. We will miss him! May Bill rest in the Peace of Christ!!! Reg Rogers

My deepest condolences. The obituary here says it all. A very charmed early life, a difficult time at the end of life, and many examples of the positive impact Bill had on others in between. That group of kids that Bill "led" has gotten smaller again, but Bill joins Danny and Ann and their new adventures.

I will always remember Bill as a kind and thoughtful person. He had the greatest smile and the bluest eyes that told you he cared. I?m so glad that I got to share my junior high years with him at Pulaski Heights. And whenever I?d run into him during our college years and our early twenties, he always made me feel special. Rest in peace, Bill.

I met Bill in 3rd grade. He had a great sense of humor and was a fun classmate, yet smart. I may have gotten through a test or two sitting next to him in 5th grade. Later on Bill became friends with my brother, Vernon. He would be in the backyard with numerous other young men playing basketball. Soon my friends would come over and all us boys and girls would be playing ping-pong or pin ball machine upstairs and running up and down the street over to Teri and Mark Payne's where we would play pool. Mrs. Payne kept us in line cause she sat by the police band radio and nothing would go by her undetected. Cotillion and many fun times spent with Bill. In rememberance and cherished always. Bill was good behind the boat on a water ski too. God bless you Bill and your family, as you now stand with God. Until we meet again.

Bill was one of the most genuine people I have ever known and was someone who was kind all the time. He has made the lives of so many people better by his positive attitude and giving nature. He was a friend that I knew was always there and who showed up for anyone in need. Bill leaves behind a legacy of lifelong friends. He will be greatly missed and remembered often with loving thoughts. I know he made us better.

When I was about 8 years old, 30 years ago, my first year to play football my coach was Coach Bill Eberle. We practiced and played at Kanis park. We did not win a game but I have always remembered Coach Eberle. He was a young man as I look back but very tough and encouraging at the same time. Although I have not known him since then, he played a part in shaping me as a man. I am so sorry for your loss; I am so glad that Coach Eberle was my first football coach. God bless.

Lujean and I want to express our deepest sympathy to the whole family. Bill was a great guy and friend to both of us. It was so wonderful to have him at our Hog party with many of his friends on the 27th. He was the first to come and one of the last to leave. It breaks our heart to hear of his passing. I know Bill was in alot of pain over the last few years, but as others have stated, he was a trooper, caring for others. Bill you will be missed, but we will see you again one day!

I had the great joy of meeting and getting to know Bill through Mended Hearts. His selflessness and williness to help others made him a irreplaceable member of our support group and friend.
His tender heart will be remembered and it deeply saddens all of those who have had the pleasure to call Bill our friend. We wish love and comfort for the family he left behind.

Bill will be sadly missed by his many friends from all walks of life. Even with the longtime health issues he battled, I seldom heard him really complain which attests to Bill's mental toughness and faith. So fortunate to have had some recent "Bill time" during the Hogs last game to truly appreciate the compassionate and special guy he was. My thoughts and prayers go to his family at this tough time.

I am so saddened by Bill's loss. He was always, so very Special, to me - & of course,so many others. We dated briefly,in our 20's. He was blessed by God & his parents, with the most amazing blue eyes & jaw-dropping "Movie Star" good looks. But even more astounding & impressive, was his presence, intelligence, personality; his heart/soul & "aura". Bill possessed something inside, that was profound, glorious, & hauntingly beautiful.Thank you Bill, for gracing my life. For the opportunity to know you...& the memories, I still hold dear. May you Rest In Peace. May God Bless & Hold you close . Just as we hold you close today, in our hearts & minds, from this day forward. Forever, & a day.
Deepest Condolences to the Eberle family.
