Biography: "Joy is from The Lord. Be joyful even to those who are mean. Man is destructive in nature. Stop this behavior to enjoy life's colors. The pursuit of happiness is selfish in a way, but joy is true happiness from The Lord. Life is so full of color. Stop and appreciate the beautiful world God has created. Don't be sad. Have joy. Death is just a part of life." - Judy Celebrate the color of life painted in the lifetime of Judith Pauline Merritt Hankins, Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, Friday, August 15, 2014, 11am. Arrangements are under the direction or Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

So very sad to hear this. I did not know her, but Philip was one of my most fondly remembered friends from school.

Such times are hard whenever they come, but having lost both my parents and three of my four sisters, I know that you survive to carry the memory of those now gone. Take heart and cherish your Mother in your hearts.

I send my blessings and warmest regards to all of you! I was honored to have known the matriarch of the "Rock House" and am still in awe of her talent. I have lowered the symbolic "Ridgeway Eagle" flag to half mast!

My thoughts and prayers are about the blessings that we have all shared with Judy and her family, including Ghangi and Major on Ridgeway. Rejoice in God's promise of eternal life and prepare yourself for your journey, when you will meet your maker and reunite with those whom you love once again, and for all time.

Kathy and family:
So very sorry to read of your Mom's passing. I do remember a few times from college days, Kathy, when we would go to LR and just drop by your Mom's house for a few. She was such a beautiful person with a beautiful spirit about her. I'm praying that all your happy memories will flood your thoughts and God will hold you up during this time you have to go through. Keep smiling and looking up!

My art teacher, one of several, but one who had a big influence on my life and my decision to obtain a degree in art. She was one-of-a-kind. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
