Biography: Ardis Bruce Huddleston, age 73, of Little Rock died June 27, 2014. He was born September 18, 1940 in Little Rock to the late Ardis Bruce Huddleston and Ida Jean Carney Huddleston. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa H. Huffman. Bruce was in the first graduating class of Hall High School and a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and retired from the State of Arkansas Retirement System. He is survived his wife of 52 years, Rita; daughter, Laura Whiteside and husband, Tracy; son, Brent Huddleston; 3 grandchildren, Darby Harrell and husband, Michael, Haley Huffman and Tate Whiteside and 3 great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 W. Markham St, Little Rock on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to JDRF Greater Arkansas (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), in honor of Bruce?s grandson, Tate, 11324 Arcade Dr., Ste. 16, Little Rock, AR 72212 or CARTI, #4 St. Vincent Circle, Little Rock, AR 72205. Rita - Bud & I would like to express our condolences on the passing of Bruce. I am so glad that I met him & was able to talk to him on the history of the Gilmore House here in Maine. You & your family are in our prayers

Rita, so sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. We have lots of memories of you guys, especially the ones sitting around the kitchen table in Maine. Hope to see you back at the Old Glory soon.

Bruce and I were in the 1st grade together(Fair Park) and we grew up together( I lived on Harrison St) We Had many good times together and I will value his friendship--I recently connected with Bruce at a Class reunion and the warmth of our friendship returned.
We had a "GREAT REUNION" and Bruce will always be part of me---HE WAS A WONDERFUL FRIEND !!!!!

Rita, we of course are going to miss seeing Bruce in Little Rock and Maine. Bruce and I were friends for so long that even though we might not have seen each other for a year or more we would start a conversation like it was only yesterday since we had seen each other. Dear Rita, Laura & family please accept our deepest & heartfelt condolences... Bruce was a wonderful, funny & kind man who will be missed greatly. Lots of the stories Laura has told me still makes me smile - he was one of a kind. I hope through the memories you can find solace during this difficult time knowing he is resting in peace.
