Biography: Mary Alice Griffin Calcote, died peacefully with her family by her side on June 27, 2014 in Seguin, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Sam M. Butler and Robert Calcote, and her parents Martha Thom and Leo Griffin. Mary Alice enjoyed an active life with her friends and family in traveling the world, dancing, tennis, bridge, her debutante group from 1946, her church of First United Methodist downtown, and her country club (CCLR). She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Carol Collie and Russell Harwood of Seguin, Texas; her sons and their wives, Griffin and Suzie Collie, and Charles and Joyce Collie of Dallas, Texas; her brother and his wife, Ron and Eliza Thom of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and her grandchildren, Christopher, Clayton, and Charlotte Collie. Memorial Service to be held at Ruebel Funeral Home at 6313 W. Markham in Little Rock, AR, Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 2:00pm with a private graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer?s Association or First United Methodist Church Little Rock, AR. www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

I loved this sweet lady. No one could purse their lips like Mary Alice. It was usually Charlie who caused that expression from her.
If I had a dollar for every time she said "Oh Charlie", I would be very wealthy. She lived a great life.

Ron Thom and Collie/Harwood Families, I have many wonderful memories of Mary Alice. She was a gem of a person and I know you will all miss her terribly.
