Biography: Carl Glenn of Little Rock died Friday, March 7, 2014. He was born June 8, 1938, in Konawa, OK, the second child of Mattie Fife Glenn and Carl E. Glenn, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Betty Turner Glenn; his daughter, Sharon Glenn Boyd, her husband, Patrick; and the loves of Carl's life, granddaughters Ashlyn Kate and Erin Elisabeth. Two nephews, David Glenn and Jon Glenn; two special nieces, Kari Adcock and Megan McDavitt; and his best buddy, Mozart "Mo" Glenn also survive him. Carl's parents, one sister, and one brother preceded him in death. Carl graduated from Batesville High School, Batesville, AR and from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a degree in Agriculture. For over 20 years, he worked in institutional food sales. Carl was an active member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church. He served as a "big brother" in the early days of the Big Brother Program and was active in prison ministry. He found the most pleasure in spending time with his family and working in his garden. For thirty years, Carl regularly kept a journal-and regularly offered thanks on these pages. He ended every journal entry with these words. "Thank you, God---Amen! CG" A memorial service, conducted by Rev. Frank LeBlanc, will be held at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 15. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:00 AM in the Westover Hills Chapel. Memorial gifts may be made in Carl's honor to Westover Hills Presbyterian Church, 6400 Richard B. Hardie Drive, Little Rock, 72207, or to the Humane Society of Pulaski County, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, 72210.

Betty, I have been thinking of you ever since I heard about Carl. He was such a quiet, kind man and I will always remember his determination which he possessed in his work, church activities, and his health issues. Years ago when he underwent knee surgery and resulting physical therapy, he related how hard he worked through the pain in order to recover quickly and become active again, which he did in short order because of that determination and will. He was an example for others!

Keeping you and Sharon, (and his friend Mo) in my thoughts and prayers.

Betty, I was so sorry to learn about Carl's Homegoing. We're simply never ready on this side of Heaven for that time to come for those we love. What a gift to know though that he's waiting for you and you'll be together again.

I have such wonderful memories of you, first through your teaching with mama then with our teaching together. We had some really good times.

I'll be holding you and yours close in my heart.
