Biography: Brad Lauren Wooley, age 77, of Little Rock, died Friday, November 17, 2006. He was born in Eastland, Texas on November 2, 1929 to the late L. W. and Dorothy (White) Wooley. Mr. Wooley grew up in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and graduated from Pine Bluff High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army Reserves 1948-1951. While stationed in California, Wooley developed an interest in Auctioneering. He attended the Western College of Auctioneering in Billings, Montana, and began a career path that lasted for 50 years. Wooley married and in 1964 located his family in Little Rock. He built his career working for the U.S. District Courts, Banks, Law firms, and the public at-large. He is a past president of the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) and organized the Arkansas Auctioneers Association, and served as its first president. He was elected to the NAA Hall of Fame and the Arkansas Auctioneers Hall of Fame and was an instructor at Indiana University’s Certified Auction Institute (CAI), the Western College of Auctioneering, the Texas Auction Academy. He also gave lectures and seminars across the United States for the NAA. An Episcopalian, Mr. Wooley was a former member of St. Mark’s and Christ Episcopal Churches. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Brian Lee Wooley. Survivors include his daughter, Karan Flora and husband Steve of Spokane, Washington; a son Brad Wooley and wife Rita of Little Rock; seven grandchildren; and a brother John Wooley of Edmond, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2006 in the Chapel of Ruebel Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the reception facilities at the Funeral Home. Private burial of ashes will be held in Pine Bluff at a later date.
