Biography: Albert Howard Stebbins, III, age 95, of Little Rock, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006. He was born in Little Rock, October 22, 1910. He was descended from a French Canadian family that settled at Arkansas Post as early as 1784, and in 1818 bought the “Spanish Grant” Bartholimew plantation (part of which is still in the family) adjoining the future North Little Rock. Howard attended Little Rock schools and was in the first graduating class of Central High School in 1928. He earned his A.B. degree from Harvard University in 1932. He married Elsie Bellingrath on October 17, 1934. He served as President of both Stebbins & Roberts Paint Mfg. and the Coke a Cola Bottling Company of Arkansas. He served as President of many local civic and charitable organizations. Mr. Stebbins was a Navy Veteran; the last living member of the North Little Rock Airbase Committee, a 33* Mason, and member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife Elsie Bellingrath Stebbins of Little Rock. They had three sons; Albert Howard Stebbins, IV deceased, James Edward Stebbins and wife Helena, of Hampshire, England, Theodore Leon, “T.L.” Stebbins and wife Lucinda of Wellesley, Massachusetts, nine grandsons, six great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with The Reverend Canon Ewing R. Jackson presiding. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall following services. In place of flowers, the family respectfully requests any memorials to be made to a charity of their choice. Howard has been a great and close friend of Dick Butler and myself for over seventy years. I wish I could help Elsie keep her kitchen clean. God bless this wonderful family.

I am part of the Myers family that Howard used to bird hunt, etc with in and around the Perryville area. I am also a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason.

I am very sorry about Howards dead but we know that he is with our Lord in a better place.

O God of grace and glory, we remember our brother Howard who is being sent into your nearer presents. We thank you for giving him to his family, his friends to know and love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage.

Give us faith to see in death the gate of eternal life; so that we may continue our course on earth until, by your call, we are reunited with those who have gone before us.
Amen

What a wonderful gentleman. A friend to all. Always enjoyed his company and trade stories on business, church, hunting, etc. He could engage in a conversation with all levels of society and with genuine sincerity. I have missed him at Rotary over the last year or so, as has so many Club 99 members. A man of deep faith, Sharon and I always enjoyed seeing he and Ms. Elsie at Trinity Cathedral, so well groomed, friendly and committed in their worship.

May the Lord be with all of the Stebbins family and may He sustain you with his presence in your time of grief. With all my respect, Ron Tabor
