Biography: Jennifer Lea Boccarossa, 30, of Little Rock, died November 11, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock surrounded by family and friends. Jennifer was born on September 11, 1983, at Doctor?s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas to Larry and Patti Boccarossa. Jennifer can best be remembered for the love of her family, especially her son, Wyatt, her beautiful voice and her love of music. Jennifer grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy in 2001. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Music in 2005 and her Master of Education degree in Secondary Education in 2007, both from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR). She went on to teach choir for Oak Grove High School and Maumelle High School, as well as on the college level at both Pulaski Technical College and at UALR. This past August, Jennifer began what she had always described as her dream job, becoming the Choral Director at Mount Saint Mary Academy. As an alumna of Mount, she was truly overjoyed and excited to join the faculty, staff, and students at this wonderful place that she called home. She had also recently been named the assistant artistic director for UALR?s spring 2014 production of Carmina Burana, in which she would have played a major role in coordinating the efforts of five high school choirs performing with the UALR Community Chorus and Arkansas Festival Ballet. Jennifer?s voice could be heard in many different venues. She sang for nearly 10 years at Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, where she was the alto section leader and a frequently featured soloist. She was also a frequent soloist for the UALR Community Chorus, the UALR Concert Choir, and The Weekend Theater. As most who heard her sing loved the sound of her voice, she was often requested to sing the National Anthem at UALR basketball games and Arkansas Travelers baseball games. She was also requested to sing at many graduation and wedding ceremonies. Additionally, she sang internationally in Canada, Scotland, and Italy. Jennifer is survived by her beloved son and the joy of her life, Wyatt; her parents, Larry and Patti Boccarossa; her two sisters, Ashley Boccarossa McNatt and her husband, Gabe of Little Rock; and Stephanie Boccarossa Short and her husband, James, of Jacksonville; her step-brother Stephen Boccarossa of Little Rock; her niece, Olivia Boccarossa and nephew, Austin Boccarossa, of Frisco, TX; her uncle, Robert Richardson, of Tampa, FL; her uncle, Garry Boccarossa, and his wife, Lisa, of Pine Bluff; her cousins Will and Taylor Boccarossa of Pine Bluff; and her two great-aunts Patricia Richardson of Little Rock and Mary Ruth Richardson of Maumelle. Jennifer?s personality lit up every room she entered. Full of life and full of love for everyone she met, she will be missed by so many people. She was an amazing person, whose love of music and teaching shined through in every part of her life. She will be remembered as a loyal and considerate daughter, mother, sister, teacher, and friend. She lived every day for her music, her teaching, and her family, especially her son, Wyatt. A visitation will be held for Jennifer on Thursday, November 14th from 5:00-6:00 PM at Holy Souls Catholic Church. A rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 15th at 10:00 AM followed by burial at Pinecrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Jennifer Boccarossa Music Scholarship Fund at Mount Saint Mary Academy Foundation, 3224 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72205 or to the Jennifer Boccarossa Memorial Scholarship at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Alumni Association, 2801 South University Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72204. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

I had the privilege of accompanying Jennifer at UALR graduation in May, six months ago; she sang "For Good" from Wicked. We talked some before we performed. She was frank, expressive, funny, emotional, extroverted, a joy to be around, the way I remember her when she was my UALR student ten years ago. At one point she interrupted herself to point excitedly to the audience and shout "Look, there's Wyatt!" I'm sure Wyatt is very lucky to have Jennifer as a mother, and I hope those of us who knew Jennifer always remember her and are always inspired by her very rich life and work.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this unspeakably difficult time. Jennifer was a precious, talented young woman when she was at MSM and grew into the accomplished adult who touched so many lives in her short life and career. I was blessed to have known her both as a student at the Mount and later as friends as we reconnected through Facebook. Love and healing to all her family and friends who are in so much pain right now. She is singing with the angels now.

Our most-sincere condolences to Jennifer's family in this very difficult time. I (Molly) had the great joy and honor of being in the UALR Concert Choir and Community Chorus with Jennifer since 2004. She was the most vibrant, exuberant and joyful source of Light, Love and Laughter. I know that there are no true words that can offer an ease to your pain, but I hope that you all may find some small comfort in the seeing yet another in an amazingly long list of people whose lives were touched (blessed) to have known and loved Jennifer. Blessings to you, one and all.

Dear Boccarossa Family, learning of Jennifer's passing has shaken me beyond belief. I am so saddened that I did not know more of Jennifer. I met and had the pleasure of assisting Jennifer at Dillard's dress department when she, her mother and Wyatt would come in to shop for dresses on many occasions for Jennifer's many musical performances. Jennifer was always such a wonderful young lady to show the Social Gowns to and she would always tell me what had been happening since I last saw her. Jennifer was one of my favorite customers and I loved seeing her with her mom and little Wyatt in tow. I will miss her and never forget the conversations we had and I can attest to the love she had for her son, Wyatt. I am very sorry for the family and Jennifer's precious little boy. May God strengthen you as a family and hold you close during this most difficult time. My prayers are with you all.

My daughter, Abby, had the privilege and joy of having Jennifer as a teacher this year. The class was "Meet THE Beatles", and I became impressed at how much they actually did in that class and how interesting and fun Jennifer made it! I smiled everytime I would hear my daughter singing Beatles songs at the top of her lungs, and I knew where that was coming from! This past Sunday, Abby saw a poster of a Beatle's Tribute coming to LR this month and took a picture of it so she could share it with Jennifer at school the following day. So very sad she did not get the opportunity. Jennifer was a beautiful person and touched so many lives in her short life. She will not be forgotten.

Even though I only met Jennifer a couple of times I?ve heard stories for over 10 years about your whole family so I feel like I know everyone. My heart is broken for all of you. I know there is nothing that can be said or done to take the pain away but I am praying for the Lord to wrap his arms around your family and help your hearts to heal.

So Sorry for your Loss! Jennifer was one of the first people that I meat at UALR. She was so kind and sweet and became one of my dear friends. She was always there when I need help or just someone to talk to! She was a light that will be missed greatly. So sorry again and you are all in my thoughts and prayers!

My heartfelt condolences and prayers for Larry, Patti and the rest of your family. I've watched your family grow up and often shared stories with Larry about our children, soccer, UALR and work. Jennifer babysat for our kids a number of years ago. May God be with you during this difficult time.

My heart is so heavy I can hardly write this but I want Patti and family to know how much I am thinking and praying for all of you. I do not understand things like this and it is difficult to see the bigger picture but I know there is one and I know God has special plans for Jennifer. Prayers and love to you from myself, from CARMLS, and my son and all his friends from Maumelle Middle send their love and support.

Jennifer was one of the strongest people I know, and I do not say that lightly. She was a fantastic musician, a wonderful mentor, and a fantastic friend. Her ability to handle anything life threw at her astounds me. I will always remember her laugh with a smile. I'm sending my thoughts and prayers from Oklahoma City for everyone who ever met her, especially Larry, Patti, Stephen, Ashley, Stephanie, and Wyatt.

We've lost one of the greats. My deepest condolences.

She will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, and most especially her son, Wyatt. May God hold you all in the palm of his hand.

Larry, Patti, Ashley, Stephanie, Stephen and little Wyatt,

My favorite part of working with Larry all these years has always been when we are done talking ATPA business on the phone, we talk about his favorite subject -- his family. It has been a privilege knowing your family through your stories, Larry, and I sense the Boccarossa home has always been one of activity, celebration, sometimes chaos, singing, friends, but mostly love. My favorite story will always be how when your girls grew up, you still left a light on, because one would always be wandering back in, coming home! And I know you will feel a tremendous loss in the midst without Jennifer's presence, as she exuded charm, character and exuberance. As a sister in a pack of three girls, I know how special that bond is, and my heart goes out to Stephanie and Ashley.

Tony and I will be sending our prayer from New York to all of you in this very difficult time. I will forever remember Jennifer of a young woman of personality, grace, courage, and kindness.

Our deepest sympathy to all of you, with love.

Our hearts are heavy as we write this message to sweet Jennifer, and the family and friends who grieve and mourn her loss. It is a loss for so very many. Her extraordinary voice, Her love of music, and Her compassion for sharing that beautiful gift will never be forgotten.

Tears are perfectly appropriate... it is knowing someone who accomplished so much that her mission on earth From Jesus was finished here... only to know He has something more important and special for her to do now for all the caring hearts through heavenly music.

Our journey will be easier to have such and extraordinary example of faith and character to follow and emulate. We are blessed to have known her.

Imagine the glorious choir she is a part of now!!! And in every beautiful song... and every Christmas song that touches our heart... every song we hear from now on... we will hear her voice... and we will be comforted ... as it truly was a gift directly from God.

Rest in His divine graces, sweet Jennifer! We will pray for those you left behind, for their comfort and their peace.

But, above all, "we will be listening for you!" We hope to be will you again!

Ms.Boccarossa was a wonderful woman, full of life and joy. She touched every single one of her students, changing their lives forever. I was a student of hers at Maumelle High School, and she is the reason I plan to attend college. She is the reason I found my confidence in my voice, and that I wanted to become a choral director myself. I am praying for you all, and I am terribly sorry for your loss. I know one thing, I have some auditions coming up for college...and she'll be there, watching me the entire time...I forgot to mention that I just got back from a competition with the choir that she started at Maumelle, and we placed a Division 1, the highest rank you can get. And I believe that without her, it would have never have been possible. Life will never be the same without her, but I'm thankful that I have an angel of music, watching over me each and every day. Thank you so much for blessing our lives with such an incredible person. And may peace be with you all.

It was such a pleasure singing with Jennifer in Concert Belles. She was the alpha of all of us and her warmth and kindness are what I most remember about her besides the obvious, her gorgeous voice. My thoughts are with her son, sisters and parents during this time. May he one day take comfort in knowing his mamma is singing with the angels. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

I wish there were words that could comfort you during this time of tremendous sorrow or something that would diminish the grief you feel.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Larry, Patti, Stephen, Ashley, Stephanie, and Wyatt during this difficult time. May the Lord bring you comfort and your heart be filled with loving memories. I will always remember carpooling to school while singing our hearts out, the Boccarossa Christmas parties, and walking around Leawood in the snow. She was a wonderful mentor to me as a freshman at Mount St. Mary Academy while in Women's Chorus. She had the most beautiful voice! I will forever remember her as she sang "Ave Maria".
