Dearest Debby,
Beth Hathaway sent me this very sad news and I wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have let Nancy Blackburn and Stacy Delano know of your loss. Let me know when you are ready for me to make a road trip to see you. I would love that.
Hugs and love,

Wayne and I were close classmates at Stuttgart High School, and I have just learned of his illness and alas, his death. Have just called our dear friend, Judy Linton Perkins, in Baton Rouge, and we both send our sympathy to his family. Judy and Wayne sat by each other in band for years, and we all took some of those fabled trips together that I have just read about. Wayne was a very special man to me, and I will always be sad that I did not tell him how much. May God Bless you, his family and friends. Judy Byrd Brittenum

Debbie, I remember Wayne so fondly and especially during the time when we played baritone in the Stuttgart High School band. My prayers are with you and your children and with your extended family. I feel fortunate to have shared some of Wayne's journey and how fortunate I am to continue this journey with you.

Debby, Katherine and Andrew,

Danny and I are so sorry for your loss. We will always hold fond memories of Wayne. His sense of humor was contagious. Our boys loved the Halloween he dressed up like Dracula, meeting them at the door. And, reading "The Cajun's Christmas" in true Cajun accent is something David emulates with his four girls. His memory will be with us always.
May God Bless you all. We pray for peace for you all.

Dear Betty,Katherine & Andrew,
My sincere sympathy to your family in the loss of your husband and father. I have fond memories of Wayne from Stuttgart High School playing in the band including poker games on my saxaphone case in the back of the bus . Those were good times; and I'm sure you have many to remember also. This has undoubtly been a very difficult time for all of you as he battled brain cancer. Our son-in-law is going thru the same thing now; so my heart goes out to you. I heard that Wayne had been diagnosed; but that he was doing well. I do wish we had more information about this disease. We have 2 students in our class die of the same thing. It just doesn't seem possible. May you feel God's loving arms around you to guide you through this time.
Sincerely,
Carol Mitchell

I went to high school with Wayne. We will miss him especially since we didn't get to have our last class reunion in 2002. We have been talking about having a class reunion in 2007. Wayne came to several of our planning meetings back in 2002. He hadn't changed a bit just as nice and cordial as he was in school.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Dear Debbie, Katherine and Andrew:

I feel heartfelt sorrow for your loss. I received a call from Jerry this morning and heard the bad news.

I considered Wayne a close friend and contemporary. I was always lifted by his positive spirit and attitude. He was a good man who was pure of heart. He always flashed a great smile, even when there was nothing to smile about. I know of very few people who always carried themselves with their dignity in tact like Wayne did. I know that he will be missed by his family greatly.

Please find solace and comfort in the fact that even though he is now in a better place, his indomitable spirit will live forever.

With love and sorrow,

Ronald

I want to extend my sympathies. I grew up with Wayne in Stuttgart, "down the street" about a block. I used to see him at Indian Princess campouts and banquets, and I talked to him every now and then. I did not know he had been ill.

I will remember Wayne fondly.
