Biography: Mary Ellen Poe Gibson, 92, of Little Rock, left this life on Saturday, September 14, 2013, to be in her mansion in heaven. She was born May 7, 1921, in North Little Rock. She was an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and loved to bowl on the church bowling league. She loved working in her home and yard. She never met a stranger and loved everyone. One of her most loved things to do was to take care of her family. She had a spoiled daughter and granddaughter, whom she would have done anything for. Even in her last few days, she would be more concerned for them than herself. When asked how she was doing, she would say, ?I?m kicking, but not very high!? and that she was going to make it to 100. There was never a sweeter or more loving person put here on this earth than she was. Truly, she was a loved mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed. Mom you were the best. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Gibson Files (David Files) of Little Rock and one grandchild, Tiffany Files of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Lee Gibson; son, Steve Allen Gibson; 4 sisters; 2 brothers; and her parents, Thomas and Fronie Poe. A funeral service will be held at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 2504 E. Dixon Rd., on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Terry Sayers officiating, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

Miss Mary shared my mother's room in Lakewood Nursing Home. She was the perfect roommate with her quiet, sweet disposition. She had the sweetest smile and was always so appreciative of everything we did for her. She & mother enjoyed watching me make a wreath for their door and when I finished it and held it up for her to see, she clapped her hands and laughed, thanking me for it. She would always say she was 'hanging in there' or 'trying to make it' with a little laugh & twinkle in her eyes. We recognized her smile right away in the picture in paper, and were so happy to see her as you all will remember her. You were blessed & we miss her very much!

To Connie, David, Tiffany. Connie we were so sorry to hear about your mothers passing. We know too well the void it has left in your life but I'm glad you know she is now in Heaven and has no more pain. Some day we will all be together again. I hope you know if you need anything from us all you have to do is ask. F.A. and Sherry
