Biography: Malcolm Everett Ritchie, Jr. "Corky", 66, of Little Rock, passed away Monday, May 13, 2013. He was born September 14, 1946 to the late Malcolm Ritchie, Sr. and the late Nell Lyons Ritchie. He is survived by his loving wife Ginger Gillis Ritchie, two daughters Dawne Rissinger (Don), of Woodlawn and Jill Thacker (Trent) of Roswell, GA, a son Ryan Ritchie (Jessica) of Rogers and 6 grandchildren: Daniel, Dalton, Jackson, Caroline, Finley, and Tate. He is predeceased by a grandson Wyatt. Corky was raised in North Little Rock and graduated with a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas where he was a member of Theta Tau and Alpha Pi Mu. After serving as a Captain in the United States Air Force, Corky began his career in systems development and had a distinguished career as Vice President, MIS at Dillard's Department Stores. He is a member of the AR Academy of Industrial Engineering and a charter member of AR Academy of Computing at Fayetteville. He has faithfully supported these academies, the College of Engineering, and the Bumpers College General Scholarship Fund. After battling melanoma in 2005, he went on to work at UAMS as Information Systems Director because he desired to use his skills to give back to the institution where he was diagnosed and treated. He loved the game of golf, fishing, and was passionate about every Razorback sport, but most importantly he cherished spending time with his family and grandchildren. Corky will be remembered most for his compassionate heart, love for Christ, servant attitude, and as a natural born leader who brought out the best in others and inspired them to accomplish their dreams. A visitation will be held at Ruebel funeral home Thursday evening, May 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 17 at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Little Rock at 10 a.m. followed by burial in Tulip Cemetery, Tulip, AR at 1:30 p.m. All are invited to attend to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UAMS Cancer Institute or to St. Andrews Church GIG Outreach Program. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

I just found out about Corky,s passing, thus the delay in my message. I first meet Corky in 1982, when I started working for Dillards, in Little Rock. My first impressions were tremendous and his smile was his trademark. He mentored me through my startup at Dillards. I never thanked him personally for his support, but I always felt thankful and blessed for his faithful support. I had the honor of dining at his home many times, where I met his lovely family. I have many fond memories of Jill, Dawne and Ryan as cnildren. They were all wonderful children and I enjoyed their company. Ginger is a gem, she was always standing by her man. She never hesitated to help anyone in need. Ginger and kids, I feel so very sad for your and our loss. I know you will all miss him tremendously. I just wish I had stayed in touch. I apologize for not keeping closer throughout the years. Ginger, my phone number is 770-337-4215, when you have the time, please call me. I would love to talk with you. I love you guys and you will always be in my heart.

It never occurred that Corky would not be here with us, he was larger than life, a born leader, a very wise kind and caring person. I always thought he was a devoted husband to Ginger and father to Dawn, Jill, Ryan & all his & Ginger's wonderful grandchildren as well as his daughter & son in laws. He was thoughtfull of his many staff members, employees, friends and passionate with his Church & beliefs. He was a great man and his loss to his family and friends and his meaning to all of us is beyond words & comprehension - I grew up in family with him, he was my friend, my role model & hero - I admired him so much &he was a living inspiration whom helped me in life's choices more than a time or two & his life choices of Ginger, his children his character of life & dedicated work ethics set the path of my life's direction. His Ginger, children & family, I and all of us who were privileged to know loved him - "He was our shining star that touched all of us who knew him in life and our star will shine less brightly without him but I believe he will always be with us and most of all for Ginger, Dawn, Jill & Ryan and their families. Be at peace Corky, you will always be in my thoughts and and with me as with your family, thanks for airways being there for me in those times of need and for the others you touched and looked over as well - I wii miss you and my prayer's are for you, Ginger, your children & grandchildren present, just born and yet to come into this world - Tom.

Corky's smile always made me smile when I saw him. He was a real pleasure to associate with. I always looked for him at Razorback stadium during the football games. He was my "Big Brother" in Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity back during my time at Fayetteville, 1967-1969. My wife Becky and I send our condolences, thoughts and prayers to Ginger and for Corky. May he rest in peace. We are truly saddened to hear to hear of his death.

Jeanne,Will and I are saddened to hear of Corky's death. Although my time with him consisted mostly of our ""office" relationship,we enjoyed many appointments filled laughter. He was always very kind and understanding, and I especially enjoyed my time with him at the 2009 Arkansas-Ole Miss game. I will miss his friendship.
