Biography: Carolyn Cress English, age 47, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away suddenly Friday, April 26, at her home. She was born March 28, 1966 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Lee and Bob Cress. She graduated from Central High School in 1984, and attended UALR. She was presented as a debutante in 1986 at the Country Club of Little Rock. As a teenager she was an accomplished competitive equestrian. She won countless awards in hunter jumper equitation. A lifetime love for horses turned into a career with her husband Steve of breeding warm blooded sport horses. They were privileged to meet many special friends across the country that shared their passion for horses. Carolyn was an animal lover, period. Countless birds, cats, dogs and horses were always present. Her dogs, Callie and Sarah, will miss her terribly. Carolyn loved people, never meeting a stranger, and had a heart of gold. She loved a good joke and had a great sense of humor. She worked as a volunteer for the Arkansas Children?s Hospital Auxiliary and chaired fundraising for one of the garden party?s and the publishing of a cookbook. She shared her passion for ACH with her parents and loved being involved. She and her husband Steve enjoyed doing everything together. Training horses, breeding horses, tending the ranch, cooking and NASCAR races were their favorite activities. She loved to travel to pursue their passion for these things. She is survived by her loving husband, Steve English; her sons, Tyler and Conner Lawrence; her parents, Lee and Bob Cress; her brother, Rob Cress and his wife, Julie; her nephews, Robert and George Cress; Steve?s parents, Jane and Don English; his sister, and her husband, Rebecca and Perry Parr; her niece, Sydney; her nephew, Tyler, and Steve?s son, Sterling English. And her aunts and uncles, Helen Cress Buchanan, Lil and Hayes McClerkin, Lila and Jack Riggs, Linda and Lamar Riggs, and many cousins and other extended family. And a special acknowledgement to her ?adopted? daughters, Kirsten Clark and Jessica Williams. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home in Little Rock on Monday, April 29, 2013. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in downtown Little Rock. Memorials may be made to the Pulaski County Humane Society or Arkansas Children?s Hospital Foundation. Arrangements by Ruebel Funeral Home, www.ruebelfuneralhome.com.

While we didn't really know Carolyn, we are realizing what a treasure we have missed. The Memorial Service pretty much said it all. She was a truly loving and caring person with a unique personality for helping people. Our hearts hurt for your loss. What a joy she must have been for 47 years.

I am a graduate of LRCH and Carolyn and I were very good friends in high school. We had much fun together doing "girl things"! Carolyn was always very gentle and humble at heart.

The last time I saw her, I ran into her at Lone Star Park (horse race) in Grand Prairie, Texas a few years ago. It was so funny! Carolyn initiated my love for horses.

My sincere condolences to Carolyn's family and all those who love her.

She will always be remembered as a sweet loving spirit.

Steve, Bob, Lee and Rob, I am so saddened by the loss of Carolyn. She was such a lovely person and I loved her passion for horses. I have comfort knowing that Grey, aka... "Why Ask Why" was there to meet her at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge to carry her across to the Gates of Heaven. May God be with each of you in this time of loss.

I am deeply saddened by the unexpected and tragic news of Caolyn's death. I have not seen her for years, but remember her as a small girl when I used to come over and play with Rob. I am holding all of her family in the Light during this time of mourning.

I understand how hard it is to lose a young life...so much life left to live, so many more memories to make and share. I have so many memories or Carolyn during our adolescent years. All those memories came flooding back this morning when I opened the paper, along with a feeling that my heart had dropped into my stomach. I pray that God grants you all with strength and comfort during this most difficult time in your lives. Carolyn, you will be missed dearly. May you ride with the angels now.....
