Biography: Rebecca ?Becky? Marie Brown Jones, of Maumelle, departed this life April 9, 2013 due to complications with lung and brain cancer. She is survived by her son Casey Jones of Little Rock; daughter Tobi Jones of Maumelle; her long time domestic partner Eddie Vinyard; brothers Chris & Dan (Sue) Brown of Ohio; sister Kim of Ohio; Cousins Terrie, Jimmy (Jackie) and Suzie of Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Richard and Julie Brown; her ex-husband and father of her children, David Clinton Jones. Becky was born December 7, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio. At the ripe age of 17 she joined the army. Shortly thereafter, she met and married her ex-husband while they were both on active duty. After many years in places like South Korea & Germany she was discharged to raise her children while her ex-husband remained active. The return to civilian life brought the whole family back to Fort Smith, Arkansas. This became home to the entire Jones' family for the next 15 years. Becky then moved to Conway, Arkansas for 8 years until her children were finished with school. As a single mother raising two children, each with their own similarities to her, she defied even her own odds. She worked at Arkansas State Parks and Tourism, Planning & Development Department as an Administrative Secretary for nearly 10 years. She loved her job & developed very long lasting friendships from the experience. In 2003, life was going great for Becky. She achieved a lifelong goal of purchasing her very first home, with room for a pool table in Maumelle, Arkansas. Her daughter, Tobi, moved in with her & lived there off & on for the next 10 years. Shortly after the purchase of her first home along came the miniature dachshund the entire family had always wished for. From that day on, Abby became more then part of the family. Her career then began to progress with a promotion to Accounting Specialist at UALR Mid-South where she worked diligently until August 2012. The radiation and chemotherapy treatment started weakening her system and she was forced to take a leave of absence. A chance meeting of a fellow pool player budded a romance to last a lifetime. Eddie was a fellow pool player who gave her tips on how to improve her pool shooting ability. They instantly became inseparable their passion for pool spread through them. Becky was a proud member of BCA, APA, OB Cues Ladies 9-Ball Tour & WPBA. She enjoyed everything and anything about pool. Several years ago, she even went as far as wrangling her daughter into playing with several of her own teams that she was captain of. She had a zest for life and a knack for knowledge, especially when it entailed rules of specific pool leagues. She enjoyed reconnecting on Facebook & reminiscing with old friends as well as coordinating her naps around her two favorite celebrity ladies, Rachel Ray and Ellen. In addition to socializing, she loved to draw. She had an amazing ability to turn a #2 pencil & piece of paper into a true masterpiece. Proving to be nothing short of the award winning artist she had become. Her last few months were pleasantly spent traveling to Texas for OB Cues tournament stops, playing in as many league nights as her body would allow, visiting with friends, watching her daily talk shows & being fully supported by those she loved. A light always shined through her eyes even on the darkest of days. Her strength, persistence, determination, and courage should be only a testament to everyone who knew her and anyone who missed the chance. When you don't think you have anything left, keep fighting. A memorial service to celebrate Becky?s life will be held Sunday April 21, 2013 in Ruebel Funeral Home from 2 to 3 p.m.

Our love of pool and our joint fight with the same ugly disease brought us together, something I am so very grateful for! She has been an inspiration for me and instilled in me the will to fight this cancer, I love her and she will always be my HERO! My prayers will continue for her family!

It seemed too quick, too sudden, but I don't think any of us would be ready to say goodbye to Becky, especially her kids.

She was a hard worker and good at her various jobs (I know her from her time at AR State Parks), a fantastic artist (she and I motivated each other in our respective artwork projects), and I heard she was great at pool and enjoyed all her pool friends, but she loved her family the most of all.

I am happy to know that for the past few years, she fell in love, with Eddie, she seemed so happy and she was living! Always smiling. That is great.

It is never easy to lose a Mother, regardless of your age and even your relationship with her, it is a tight bond. But know that she is with you and you will always have her inside of you because she poured her essence into you guys. She adored both of you - Tobi & Casey and you were her pride and joy! You will find the artist in you that she planted in you. Casey has discovered it with music and art and Tobi, you have clearly discovered it in writing and poetry! I have a feeling more is yet to come in your future.

Focus on your good and happy memories of her and your times together to fill the void of pain that you feel right now. That is healing for grief.

Tobi, Casey and Eddie, you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Live your lives to the fullest to honor her and when you can, smile up at her!

I love her, loved her & will always. A huge part of me feels like it is no longer here but my brain knows better because you'll always be watching over me. I only hope that everything I do, you'll be proud. One last hug, one last giggle fit, one last "did you see that kid on Ellen?!" would be nice tho.
I love you Mom. More than I ever even knew I could.

My heart goes out to Becky's family and friends. Becky put up a good fight in her battle against cancer and lived life to the fullest until she could battle no more. I am sure she had moments of despair and anger but what we saw was her determination, grace and her love for life and the people she surrounded herself with.

We had the same love of pool and life. The Arkansas baby,s I called them and always missed one if they could not make a stop that I could attend myself.

She was a joy to know and always will be with me in heart and soul.aw
